Glad you got the grass cut Muggy, my other half cut two lawns yesterday for needy friends. Is your mum more settled? I hope so. Hope you all have a nice day and evening. Hi anne. Actually I didn't get the grass cut anne, as it was too wet. Hoping to get it done either today or tomorrow, again depending upon the weather. Mum is not still not completely settled but seems to be happier than she was when she first moved in. She's not used to country life and misses all the shops in the town where she lived before. However, although I took her to the bus stop yesterday as she had a chiropody appointment - she actually managed to catch the bus back and get to her bungalow on her own (she told me which bus she would be on but I decided not to meet her this time as thought she needed to get there on her own). The previous times she's been to town, I've have actually met her at the bus stop (good job as I found her going the wrong way the second time and don't know where she would have ended up!). I think it will be better when we get her previous flat sold (think we've got a buyer, a property developer - just haggling over the price at the moment) as she wants to go back there all the time. When it's sold, it will take the temptation away for her. Anyway, must close, I've got loads to do. Weather looking quite reasonable at the moment but not sure if it will hold. Have a nice weekend and take care.

Morning all, weather reasonable here so have decided to go to our caravan for a few days, I dread the first time as we have to take everything like bedding, clothes and food, sure to forget something. Will still be watching DOND there, have a good weekend, hope the weather holds out as forecast, at least until Sunday.

Bacardi and coke is a "treat" for me in the winter, change it to G&T in summer, I still lost weight on it Muggy so have to believe in it, have a good day, don't work too hard.

Morning everyone Not sunny here but breezy so washing is blowing away on line. Just come back from weekly Tesco trip and the shopping is still in the car boot and I've logged on here instead of putting it away. Muggy your mum seems to be settling and gaining more independence bit by bit, that must be a relief for you. Rosebud, enjoy your weekend at the caravan, where is it? Off to put the shopping away now so bye for now everyone

Oh dear. What on earth do you do when your teenager does something like that? My 14 yr old daughter wants her lips pierced but I've said absolutely not. I don't know what I'll do if she goes against my wishes. Has he just been sent home for one day? That will make you even more stressed at work - are you there tonight? I work part-time as a clerical officer. I hate it at the moment as the boss is quite a bully. I've applied for another job within walking distance from home, so I've got my fingers and toes crossed.
Hi Peggy, my son went back to school yesterday afternoon with the piercing removed and when he tried to put it back in later the hole had already closed up, so basically he's got to waste another £30 if he wants to have it redone after his exams. They won't be told will they? Good luck with your job application, keep us informed.

Hi Muggy, rosebud, linz,Peggy and Posh, hope everyone is well. Have a lovely time at your caravan rosebud. Posh, maybe your son will give up now if it costs £30 every time. Ooh just thought, lie in tomorrow. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hi Posh, Lindy, Linz and everybody. I got the shopping put away linz, but I think the ice cream was a bit sloppy! Posh, as Lindy says, your son might not want to waste £30 - here's hoping. You are right about not being able to tell them anything. My 14 yr old knows more than me and her dad put together! I will certainly keep you informed about the job, thanks for the interest. Hoping your work stress eases soon. Lindy I LOVE my Saturday lie in, it's the best morning of the week! Hope you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend.

Afternoon everyone. Beautiful day here in N Lincolnshire. Anne, I've actually got both the back and front lawns cut today - Hoorah! Although I say it myself, they look good! Went to a local Farmers' Market and Garden Centre this morning with my mother-in-law - thought she had better get a look-in as my husband and I have done so much and spent so much time with my Mum lately, that we felt a bit sorry for her. She's a very independent 88 year old who is usually out with her dog at about 6.00 in the morning and manages extremely well but she certainly deserves a little treat now and again. I feel absolutely shattered now and am going to have a shower shortly to freshen myself up a bit. Hope you all enjoy DOND today and that the contestant goes away with a reasonable amount and that you all have a great weekend. Take care.

Hi everyone I like hearing how you all spend your Saturdays. Harry, lovely day for a walk along the river. Lindy, nothing like a bit of retail therapy, might indulge in some myself tomorrow. Anne, hope you enjoyed the football. Muggy, well done for mowing the lawns. Peggy, well done for, er,.....watching TV!

Hi Ussie, I was going to ask why you've changed your piccy, then I read the above post. Is it to show that you've progressed on to drinking cups of tea/coffee instead of eating burgers?
|
