I enjoyed school but I wouldn't say they were the best days of my life. It's when you leave school and get a job that life begins!

Definitely not. I enjoyed some things about school but leaving was better. About the first thing I did was to throw away my tie.

I think being over 50 has been one of the best times (you've a long wait, our Henry!). The kids are grown up, we seem to have more money than we ever did, and I feel i know what life is about a bit more than I did.It's especially good when you retire!

I guess each age has it's draw-backs - I have more health concerns now.

best days apart from the showers and having to wear skirts

Id be in my element now with no stinky public showers after games with the games teachers counting you as you went in and long trousers hiding my long stick like legs and mobiles yeahhhhhhhhhh wish I was starting over now !

god I hope it was nothing like the book Im reading its called Kathys story I always thought nuns were supposed to be nice ! its a very terrifying story Im sooooooo glad of my school I think Id even cope with the showers LOL

i had Nuns too my Grammer school was a convent!
a different breed altogether!

if they didn't like you they tormented you! and they HATED me! all i learnt there, was to hate them back! and now if i see a nun crossing the road i have to fight with myself not to drive right over the top of them!

and if i told my mum that one had pulled my hair or hit me..then she hit me harder! as she thought they would only do such a thing because i really deserved it!

i only stayed for 2yrs did my o levels and ran!!

OH GOD!!!...I couldnt wait to leave school....Have had a much better time since....

We had a few nuns and priests...who were actually very nice.....

However, the stories I have heard from my friends here in Ireland...of the abuse they received is just shocking.....

Unfortunately a lot of the Nuns and priests had to enter the priest/sisterhood...it was expected of them by there families they felt they didnt have a choice.....with DIRE consequences in some circumstances....

They took their frustrations out on the kids....

Just dreadful.....

The trouble with jogging is that ice falls out of your glass.

I will never look at a nun in the same light again !! glad I never went to a convent school have you read kathys story? the nuns in there were awful.

I dont trust priests either !

If I'd of told my Mum she wouldn't of believed me and when they and priests visited the house the best of everything was laid on for them..grrrr it makes me so mad just thinking about them.

Can't say school was memorable for me, in fact I can't remembmr much about it, so it can't have been that good, different these days though, allthe technology available to kids, I'd love to be there now, starting over.

As for the comments re nuns/convents/priests, etc...it doesn't surprise me one iota, I have ALWAYS steered well clear of the church, I don't trust anyone involved with it...but that's just me!
