At last......... The form now seems to be working reasonably well and at least tells you when you have reached the 30 limit. You still have to enter your DOB and the security code when using 'Autofill', but it's not too painful. I do, however, feel for those with sight difficulties - surely C4 can overcome this with a little effort. What a pity it's taken all these complaints before they did something.

It is filmed in Bristol, i should know, i live here. I have been trying, to no avail, to be a contestant on the show, i am not having any luck, the studio is only 4 miles from where i live. I do think the banker can be very mean, and he has his favourites, some get fantastic deals, others don't. if i were selected to go on there and a generous offer was made to me early on in the show, say £40,000, i'd have to deal, even if the bottom 5 red boxes were intact, well, you never know how the boxes are going to pan out, do you? and then when you deal, Noel says "now play on the way you would have done,if you hadn't dealt, i think once you have dealt, if you haven't got a gameplan you may play it slightly different anyway. Anyway i wil carry on tring till i can get on, i have been trying to get on Millionaire for almost a year too.

Last Monday I decided to give the web entry another go, and lo and behold - it all worked! I even started while Countdown was on, and, though I was suspicious of it being too early, my very first attempt was accepted. I continued to send in entries until my wrists started to ache about 8 minutes before the end of DOND, I must have submitted about 50 entries, and never got informed of having exceeded my 30 limit (as had happened previously). This changed later in the week, but I personally am OK with that, at least I now know that if I want, I can get my 30 entries in before the programme starts, then I can actually WATCH the show with no distractions. I'd still be comforted to know that ANY web entries have won anything. I'm blowed if I could afford to ring up, just on the off chance. 30 entries a day equals £150 for five days worth of DOND...that's £600 per month. Any takers??? What do you call a man who has rabbits living up his backside? Warren.

yeah i have a question about the free web entires for dond..why bother?
it's clear that it's designed to stop people entering, everything from it's slow speed, the mess of security code writing that is basically an invitation for a migraine. the oh-so-clever drop down birthday menu.
why bother having a free web entry, when it's not fun, it's mostly not possible and most of all it's a really frustrating waste of time?
why bother?

oh and to compound the misery of having to jump through all those hoops, pages that have been entered, after a five/six minute wait, have produced a page not found display.
sheesh. just kill the web entry for this competition, it would be more honest and more of a service to the viewers.
disgusting arrogance or bad service levels?
you decide.

Producer Andy .... Can we have the old form back!!!!
|
| |
|

one more point. never mind that the visually impaired would find this entry nigh on impossible. surely the fact that you advertise a free web entry, and then that free web entry is not available, isn't that mis-representation?

I agree the new form is not easy even for normal sighted and very slow reponse times after, but the old ones had to go they were too simple. I do wish the web site was fixed and runnnng smoothly in all areas. They need to get their act together all round.

Whilst on holiday in North Wales, I was surprised to see DOND being broadcast at3.30 in the afternoon on S4C. How can it be shown in two different parts of the UK at different times and still be a level playing field for all.
Dont worry. Be happy.

Hi, just to put your mind at rest, a member of another forum i visit, won last week after entering through the web.
I usually start the form filling during Countdown and there is no delay at all, the response is immediate, but if i'm late and still filling it in during DonD then it is obviously very slow. I've managed to get 4 successful entries for today.

Hey everyone, I just found a neat way to use form filler software like keywallet to fill in the dates easier. Hope it's useful to you who want to fill in the details faster:
For Days of the month enter into the field value the following code based on the date: 1-0, 2-00, 3-000, 4-0000, 5-00000, 6-000000, 7-0000000, 8-00000000, 9-000000000, 10-1, 11-11, 12-111, 13-1111, 14-11111, 15-111111, 16-1111111, 17-11111111, 18-111111111, 19-1111111111, 20-2, 21-22, 22-222, 23-2222, 24-22222, 25-222222, 26-2222222, 27-22222222, 28-222222222, 29-2222222222, 30-3, 31-33
For Months of the Year enter into the field value the following code based on the date: Jan-J, Feb-F, Mar-M, Apr-A, May-MM, Jun-JJ, Jul-JJJ, Aug-AA, Sep-S, Oct-O, Nov-N, Dec-D
For Years enter in '2' to set it to 2000 then click and select your birthyear quicker if your born after 1977, unfortunately would require alot of 1's to set the year date exactly.
For example if your born on the 17-05-1980, put '11111111' into the day field, 'MM' into the month field and '2' into the year field then click to open scroll window and click 1980.
Anyway hope it's useful to you ^^, and not too complicated.

I have totally had it with channel 4 - I am not going to watch their channel again. I am sick to death of trying to enter this pathetic show on the web. Isn't it amazing how my first two entries went through with a "sorry" and after that all I get is "this page cannot be displayed". Why???????????????!!!!!!

Andy, WHERE exactly does it tell us what to do when the site does nothing after entering the code. Are you even aware of the problems faced trying this. It DOES NOT WORK and we are fed up telling C4 about this. By the way, thanks for pulling my poll (which was probably geting more hits than the online game).

Hi, just to put your mind at rest, a member of another forum i visit, won last week after entering through the web.
Hi, can you tell me which forum this was posted on? I'm wondering if I'll ever get "picked", despite entering numerous online competitions. Pretty depressing...........

Hi zakcat. Can you tell me what values you enter to entering your date of birth using Keywallet?
Also, does anyone know why we need to provide our DOB? Do they ask to see our birth certificates if we win or something?

It does. It's a good Idea to enter before the show so you can get the maximum number of entries in (It will tell you when you have done your 30)) and you can watch DOND in peace A couple of questions I have: Has anyone found a form filler that saves you having to enter the same details oiver and over again. & Does anyone know what the official stats are for the shortlist IE whats thew average number of unsucsessfuls to sucsessfuls - mine is about 7/1 and haow many shortlisted players are there per draw
Ive found a form filler go to http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tag=srch&qt=keywallet&tg=dl-2001 its free to download i use it and its simple

I have set up a macro using macro magic, it costs US$40 but it makes the task very easy. I run it and it fills all the fields and just asks for the code each time, it auto repeats for each entry. If anybody is interested and would like help setting it up then I think I can set you up as a buddy and we can exchange information away from the main forum.

I have Firefox as my web browser which comes with Autofill, which fills in most of the fields automatically (you can get much the same thing with the Google toolbar for IE); for the last couple of weeks I've been speed-filling out the forms to get into the winner's pool once or twice a show. And yesterday my name came up and I won £10,000! So I think the free web entry is the best thing ever - and I have to say, it made watching it all the more exciting anyway so is worth the ten minutes it takes to get in the winner's pool. I know I won so I'm biased, but I don't see that channel 4 have any obligation to offer free web entry (the only other show that I'm aware of that does is Brainteaser), & the web form does not even involve being bombarded with adverts. I really don't think there can be any bias toward people who phone in. Anyway, it may have been rubbish in the past but it's clearly worked for me - good luck all, keep entering is my advice.

Hi there, well done for winning, lucky you. I hope my day comes too. Can I possibly ask you a few questions if you don't mind? How often have you been entering before you won? How long do you have to wait to receive your winnings? What did they ask you when Channel 4 rang you? Do you have to prove oyur identity or anything? I wonder hwy it asks for our date of birth, as long as we're over 16 I can't see how that matters. anyway congrats again and I do hope my chance will come too. Thanks for any info you can give me about those questions. Enjoy spending the money MJ

Well done evilbrummiegit, you've brightened up my otherwise fruitless week - a glimmer of optimism is now overcoming the previous pervading feeling of doubt and suspicion that I was wasting umpteen hours a week for nothing. And TEN GRAND! Excellent stuff. I'm still mildly concerned however (as I'm sure are many others)as to the importance of date of birth; we all know how easy it is to make a mistake - if it turns out that you've entered a wrong digit or somesuch, do you fail to get your winnings? Does a hit squad come round to confiscate your TV & PC? Will they pour cement into your lavatorial facilities and paint a large red cross on your front door? Aaaaarrrgh? Anyway, I should be so lucky to fall into that category. Congrats, and good luck everybody!
