Since reading your post re. Thatch's tv appearance at school, I've been giving myself severe brain ache thinking 'Who IS she...who IS she????' I may have been older than 11 but no more than 13 so you may have been in my year or the one above...either way, I'd probably know you. Are you still in the same town? Confused Eek Confused Eek Confused Eek Ghost

No I'm not, got out years ago, the school and the place itself hold some really unhappy memories for me. Fortunately I'm sorted now though. There were some real b*****s at that school, I do hope you weren't one of them. Anyway, we all grow up and move on, so if you were I forgive you. You seem very nice!!!

I got out of that one horse town about 15 yrs ago...seems to be a place of misery to most!! I was a bit of a cow at school sometimes so now I'm scared to say any more... I'm not so bad now Wink Big Grin. I think it's an all-girls' schools thing. I left in 84 (5th yr), I used to hang round with Clare Stewart, Emma Bowen-Jones amongst others.
I hear Miss N Holland is dead now, wish it was the other one Witch We had a mutual hate thing going on! Tell me more...i'm intrigued!!! Ninja Ninja Ninja

Ahh poor you. People can be such sh*ts. I can honestly say I only ever had rucks with people who deserved it cause they too were b*****s! I think that school mentally scarred lots of us. I always thought that the attitude of the school was if you're not a academic genius or big on sport or music, you may as well have not bothered turning up! Roll Eyes

My sentiments exactly. Mrs Imber was disgusted upon learning I was off to college to hairdress. Her exact words were 'Coming from a school like this? Well, jolly well make sure you have a chain of salons!' Then she put her nose in the air and walked off. I was stunned. It wouldn't be allowed in this day and age would it?

Snotty cow! I used to have a bit of a crush on Mr Plant or Potshop Pete as we used to call him. I think it was cause he was the only man under 60 in the vicinity! Big Grin

He was my teacher in 2nd form. We nce put a joke dog turd on his chair, he sat down on it, he wasn't too happy, he made us write out an apology. He was on the whole pretty chilled out though, one of the better teachers.

Can you remember Miss Whicher? Trust me to get her for history as opposed to the far nicer Mrs Whiting. Whicher was supposed to be very friendly with Miss Faulkner, the cookery teacher with the rice krispie on her eye. And talking of lezby friends do you remember Mrs Bray and Miss Briggs?

LOL. Yes I'd heard about Miss Whicher and Miss Faulkner. They lived together in Barrack Square. Mrs Bray ran off with Miss Wilson didn't she? That was after I left. Didn't know about Miss Briggs but no surprise there!!! She reminded me of Tommy Steele. I had Mrs Whiting for History...had a lovely checked tablecloth coat I seem to remember. Big Grin

Ha, yes she did look like Tommy Steele didn't she. I seem to remeber hearing something about Bray and Wilson. And whatever happened to Mrs Spoors, she of purple crimplene flares? I was up before her in the 1st form cos that Morris dancing git Dr Gallimore put me on report for nothing!! Pig!! She was hideous to me. I could go on forever, but I won't, you have a life to lead!! Lovely talking to you, Sharky.

I looked a few of em up to see what they were doing, all of em had well paid jobs and no kids or kids and au pairs or they were living somewhere dead exotic. It just depressed me even more. Past is best left alone, I prefer my present!!

The majority of people at our school were nutters. I joined FR years ago and was inundated with messages from nutters, people demanding back dinner money and the bereaved family of the earwig I ate for a bet (see what's the most exotic thing you've eaten thread) Big Grin
