FANTASTIC!!!! Betty proved that going with your feelings pay off. The tears were rolling down my cheeks. It was so exciting when the box was opened,we all screamed in our house. It was like England scoring in the world cup. Then Noel cried and I cried even more. Betty, I hope you have a blast with your money and wish you every happiness. Best game I've seen this year Thumbs Up Hug Clapping

I JUST HAVE TO COME AND DISCUSS THIS GAME!
I WAS SHOCKED SHE NEVER TOOK £19,500, and I agree it was a bit mean of the banker...
she also said "I dont want to get greedy" and thats good Thumbs Up
She didnt, SHE WAS JUST BRAVE!
I was so happy she won £100,000! I think, the fear HAS FINALLY GONE!
Anyway, see you later guys! Wave

Now no one could call me a conspiracy theorist, but boy oh boy if I was, that stern way Noel told Betty not to listen to the banker [when he was suggesting she'd do well to swap] would have me thinking.

Awesome game, real 'edge of the seat' stuff!

Who would have taken and nabbed the £19,500!?

Wow!! What a fantastic game. Well done Betty, you were a super lady. Clapping I caught the last moment when her box was opened on Channel 4 plus 1 and have just finished watching the whole game. Even knowing the end result didn't detract from the nailbiting end. We need more games like this!

It's funny though how people seem to have conveniently overlooked the fact that Betty did say at one offer that she wanted 'more than that' and at another offer that the banker was being mean. When other contestants have said those things and gone away with a small amount, they have been criticised for being greedy and disrespectful, but just because Betty won a large amount it seems to be ok by everyone.

I think the big difference is that she was easy to warm to. She had a nice 'genuine-ness about her. We forgive the sins of those who we like.

I agree Posh Paws. i noticed that in the game too. I must admit I didnt like Betty when she was in the wings and didnt pay to much attention to the start of her show - but at the end I was willing her to win as much as everyone else. She actually came across very honest and natural at the end. Best result this year by far!

Even with the bum wiggling? Did that not offend your delicate sensibilities chobo?

I actually thought it was a repulsive game. Openly praying to God to let her win big because she has never won anything. Eh hello there's many many people who are less fortunate than her who will never have the chance of a life changing sum of money.

A totally immoral game - never mind working hard, never mind studying just go on a gameshow and all your problems will be solved - but of course for most it won't be like that

I get the feeling that Betty HAS worked hard during her life. I don't see why the game was so immoral and repulsive. Would you have said that if she'd gone away with alternative sum of £10?

What i found repulsive was her praying to God to give her a big win, so yes i would have found her game repulsive whatever she had gone away with.

If however she had left God out of it then it would have been a better game, at least to me.

Don't get me wrong i'm pleased for her to have won big - just didn't like the sacrilegious aspect

At the risk of being disliked on here, I have to say I found the praying bit tacky as well. If she was that desperate for money she could have taken the 19k. I didn't like the way she dismissed it as a bad offer and then said that she never asked for much!

No matter what happened and what was said i think it was natural and not acting, and that made it less tacky than many shows ive seen!

She didn't say she wanted more than that...she even said "I dont want to be greedy" the only reason she declined it was because she thought £19,500 was unfair and also, the sister hold her "be happy" which is what she said before declining the last offer! She wasnt really being greedy in my opinion!

I doubt she would've been happy if she had ended up winning £10.
