Cynical old me will say nowt about the TV gift.
However hers was a classic example how not to gamble in DOND. In Kay's case she twice refused £11,000 at 11 and 8 boxes - when the odds were fair but not wildly atractive. So a lady who could not afford a decent TV - twice placed mind boggling bets at odds she could obtain almost anywhere for an equivalent risk.
Her comment afterwards that " I played the game "
baffles me - it normally means I did'nt cheat.

I think Kay was thrilled just to be on the show and obviously was enjoying the whole experience. So all that meant more to her than winning a large amount.

Some players are not on the show to gamble. They're on just because they like the show and want the thrill of taking part, and being on TV. Why can't it be as simple as that for some people, gamesman?

Wave Kay enjoyed every minute of the game and as others have said she was thrilled to be there. I hope she enjoys watching her new telly. Hug

I think that was probably true of Kay - dont you think she was very much the exception . Cant be true of those many who are desparately in need and cry and those who say " i'm gutted " when they see that could have won more.
And what does "I played the game " mean you win nothing ? Who does'nt play the game ?? Those who deal ? Thats a bit worrying .

I think everyone plays the game.It doesn't matter if they deal early, they still have to play till the end.I don't really like it when players say that,it's as if they are calling the dealers cowards.

And what does this 'I've been true to myself' phrase mean as well?

As I've said before, there's no point playing the game until there's nothing left. She was lucky to get a TV out of it !

WE ARE ALL WISE AFTER THE EVENT BUT SHOW ME SOMEONE WHO IS WISE BEFORE THE EVENT !!!

But there was something left - she just picked the wrong boxes at the end. Others have no dealt in similar situations to hers and dodged the reds in the remaining rounds. If everybody thought there was no point playing until there's nothing left then nobody would ever play on to two boxes and there would be no climaxes.

They are in danger of overplaying the panto villainous banker bit

I think that the current mood is the sensible (Chobo rules) - I quit on a good board and a fairish offer at 8 especially if the offer depends on holding on to one biggy . You are almost 40% sure of losing it in the next drewws. Big risk.
I predict we will see less and less nailbiting climaxes - although I have seen the 21 biting their nails when the most available was £3,000.
Kay got quite carried away by being centre stage and completely lost the plot.
Utterly meaningless comments of " I came to play the game " " I was true to myself " instead of the the truthful "I was
very stupid" is just a way to save face. Sad but better than - " I am gutted " ( by not wining more )

Its called being optimistic, if she gave a pessimistic comment, it would change the atmoshere for the next player, I think she was being quite considerate to the next player, so they dont have as much fear in them, by dealling early, but should do whatever they want depending on the game (Like what Simmo tried to do)

Dont see that - optimism is ones attitude towards the future - not a comment ones the past.
The phrases are meaningless and said in a desparate effort to cover up biter dissapointment.
But it is strange how they all choose the same meaningless formula - who started it ?

I have'nt heard Noel rabbit on about " bravery" lately - thank goodness

To be fair gamesman ,any game could go wrong - even yours! And what do you say at the end to console yourself? "I played the game my way". It's human nature and there's no getting away from it.
