Hi All

I have just registered so be gentle with me but I wondered if anyone can help. I had an audition in Manchester on 11 February 2008 and got the silver ticket. I had a call yesterday to ask to have a police check and a health check. Can any ex contestants tell me if this is the last stage. I am soooooooooooooooo excited but maybe they do it with everyone??

The health check i can understand but what on earth are the police doing vetting people to go on a game show Roll Eyes

Police checks are to check if you have a criminal record (if you lied that you have a clean record on the application form)

Well yes i do actually know that. My question was ironical which i thought you might have picked up from the Roll Eyes smiley.

The point i was making is that surely the police have better things to do that vet who does or does not go on a gameshow.

It's Endemol who are doing the vetting.

No, I know that! But, just say a psycho (for example) goes on the show, and causes havoc in Bristol, although they have better things to do, its best they are involved!

But where that argument falls down is not all psychos have a criminal record - in fact most don't.

Thats the audition i was at! Quite quick really seeing as most people are waiting 18 months. Well done anyway matey, you must have had some star qualities Nod

Maybe Lindy was right (on another thread) and Gadgetman has been called up to go on the show.

But he may have been told not to say anything and I'm sure he wouldn't jeopardise his opportunity to be a contestant. I don't think it is that, for the reasons I said in the other thread, but it can't be ruled out.
