They asked me a few questions and then said that there are auditions coming up but If I don;t hear from them within 3 months that would mean i was unsucessful.
Has anyone else had a phone call like this?
Have I been fobbed off? if I had passed the phone interwiew would they not have offered me the audition tere an then.
I have a feeling I messed up the phone interview because I work night shift and was woken up to take the call, so I was pretty groggy and not the sharpest with my answers

They could of changed the way the do it now youknowsit so don`t worry.I had a phone call a long time ago and all i was told was they had to phone many more. You never know it could be that you could fit in the line up of contestants somewhere in the three month`s.Fingers crossed for you.(It didn`t happen for me.)Their loss
when i got my call last year they didn't ask me any questions and told me there and then that i had an audition...it may have changed now though, never give up hope.. by the way nearly a year now and i'm still waiting for "THE CALL"
They must change the way they do things Lindy as i was asked question`s too. It`s so frustrating isn`t it so near but so far away,(theres a song there somewhere)
when i was at my audition i got the impression they were looking at my body language...i suppose if you have an enormous twitch or something that you might be unsuccessful...take Ferno for example, he seemed to get on some people's nerves when he was twiddling with his tennis ball
I got a call about a month ago, they did a telephone interview and then at the end invited me to an audition this week in London. It's felt like a whole year waiting for the month to go by!

I wish they had just been honest and said I was unsucessful instad of giving me false hope.
Hi youknowsit, I got the same kinda of call. The production team guy (think his name was James) called me while I was at work so I was caught off guard a bit. He asked me a few questions and then asked whether London would be my most local audition. I said yes and they said that they had not booked the London Auditions yet but as soon as they did they would call back. That was end of Feb time and looking at the posts on this forum, some people have had London auditions in the last 3 months so it would appear we were fobbed off. I am with you, I would much rather they were honest. Although I have already had an audition (Feb 07) but he didnt say that I could only have 1 when I mentioned it to him. Who Knows??? I am keeping positive though - I will be on DOND one day, I have always wanted to give Noel a piggy back round the studio!!!!
Aim for the moon and even if you miss, you will still be among the stars

Absolutely right, tempest. For instance, for the rather more intellectually demanding 15 to 1 show, the audition process simply consisted of a series of general knowledge questions, and if you scored highly enough, you got on the show. It's fairly evident that the main reason for such a lengthy audition process for DOND (and application process - have you seen some of the questions? I doubt whether the Gestapo were as rigorous) is to weed out people who might have the audacity to think for themselves or even, Heaven forbid, deal early, and who will do exactly as they are told. DOND's target audience is certainly not that of Mastermind, University Challenge etc., but Jeremy Kyle, Trisha etc. A Chav's paradise, in other words.
Hi TR I think you are being unfair comparing DOND with Mastermind. It's like comparing beer with Champagne - there is nothing to say you can't enjoy them both but for different reasons.
Facinated by the idea of a chav's paradise. I think there's one a couple of miles from where I live!!

Why do you constantly generalise about DOND fans? I hate Mastermind, but not because it's "intellectually challenging". However, I like University Challenge. I also loathe Jeremy Kyle, Trisha etc. because I find them samey and boring. We all have different tastes and interests, but because some of us like DOND doesn't make us "chavs" or intellectually inferior to you.
I wish they'd call me! Not because i am intellectually challenged, not because i' like Jeremy kyle (I really don't!), and as far as i know, not because i'm a chav! I'd like the call because the show has become an institution. A fun, lighthearted game where everyone who is lucky enough to go on, has an equal chance of winning the same ammounts of money... Millionaire, 15-1 etc, good shows but they don't offer the same chance, now do they, to such a wide spectrum of people! An 80yr old Grandad against an 18yr student - DOND is a show without prejudice...

Well said Andrea33. I've been on 15 to 1 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, but I still hope to get on DOND too. As you say - a totally different species of show.
Hi Lindy, it is nice to be back! Hi Cleo, thank you. getting on to 15-1 must have been fun, i've often thought about applying to Countdown... maybe one day!
