I am just on for this weekend to treat myself as some of my exams are over and for some I have gotten my results for taking them early! I feels as if I havent been on for a very long time, and the next time I will log on is in June! But for the long weekend, I will be here as a treat! How is everyone?
Took the words right out of my mouth! Whenever, DOND finished, I would say "DOND Forum" and remember revision! But, its friday! You cant revise everyday 24/7 now can ya? Also, I dont like being behind on everything, but the break of 3-4? days was it? ...was kind of good...because I did have time to relax and just think..if you know what I mean.
Hey Ussie, I asked my son how his revision is going the other day and he replied it wasn't worth doing any yet as he'd forget it all. Sounds like you're being a bit more sensible.
Oh yeah, I learnt from year 10! I didnt revise, and last minute revison only got me B's! So, I think a balance will be good. Heres some advice for your son: Revise 30 minutes, have 1 hour chilling time! Or try and movtivate him, eg reward him if he revises. A cool technique to revise is: have like notes on the walls, and try doing some excerise to get pumped up, and it will stick! But, thats for people who are quite sporty.
The trouble is my son's attitude is he'll do the minimum to pass, he doesn't care about getting higher grades. And being 16, he thinks he knows everything and won't take advice from parents or teachers ('They don't know what they're talking about!')
Oh right, me and a couple of friends did an assembly for younger children about it, they listen to people their own age, perhaps get him someone like his age who has done GCSEs?
That's a good idea Ussie, you sound like you've got your head screwed on, shall I get him to come on here?! What are you planning to do at college? A levels, then Uni?
That would be cool! Yes, college and Uni, biology, chemistry, psychology and ...wait for it (you may laugh) ...english! (as i keep making spelling errors) -thank goodness for the editing thing! In Uni, im stuck...Something with science or erm drama, havent chosen yet. But, I wouldnt mind giving him advice! ..If your being sarcastic...I feel like a looney!
No he doesn't like DOND and he hates that it's on every day. He mocks me for coming on this 'sad' forum. He spends all his time on MSN. He's out right now otherwise I would see what he said to talking to you!
