Have you got an accent likes hers then Peggy? I love listening to different accents.

To you I would probably sound like her, but other north easterners would probably be able to pinpoint that I'm from Durham. I now live only 8 miles north of Durham, but the accent is totally different!! You should hear my telephone voice, though.

Ant and Dec make me laugh so much. I've just got to look at Ant's face sometimes and he cracks me up.

Where I live has its posh parts and its chav parts, like all towns, probably. I'm somewhere in the middle. I have the sea south of me and the Downs north, so its a nice spot.

Eastbourne is fantastic for D.I.Y stores, i used to go there when i had a flat in Bexhill

I love their accents. And fancy Dec's mam living near your sister!! I bet to a lot of people our accents would sound the same, but I bet we sound totally different to each other!

I know peggy, it's amazing just how many accents there are in the North east. If anyone watched the match last night,do you think Emjay looks like Chelsea's goalkeeper?

Is 'Mam' the usual word for mother in the north east? We have 'mum' in Manchester. What do you have down south Posh, Ma'am?

We say 'Mother dearest'. Not really (in case you thought I meant it!) we say mum too. Or if it's my son asking for a lift, it's Mumsiepoo.

Mam is generally used in the north east, I use it only to my mother. I use the word mum generally, and my girls called me "mummy" then "mum". "Mammy" is the term very young children use up here, but there was no way I wanted to be constantly reminded of Al Jolson. I have a friend (from the North East) who lives in Cambridgeshire, and she insisted on being mammy then mam, to be different from everybody else down there! By the way, I call myself mam when talking to the dog!!!

My cockatiel says " Charlie`s a good boy to Mummy" etc, so I`m Mummy when I`m talking to him, and Mum to the rest.
