I'm considering building a granny annexe within my property. It is a very large property and most probably the best place to do it would be the large tandem garage joined to the house.
We are set within our own grounds and it wouldn't impact any neighbours. I have never done any kind of work like this before and would employ architecht and builders. My first question is does one need formal planning permission?
You've probably already done something by now...... However, your best bet is to call an architect, doesn't need to be one you'd use, just one to get the info from.
They will advise of the procedure, whether it would be possible to convert, and give you an idea of cost.
