ok i just recently went to new york and i have to say after staying there for just a week i want to live there, shops are open later, it truely is the town that never sleeps! what do u think is better london or new york?
Far too many people in New York for my liking. And London for that matter.
Much prefer the wide open spaces in Florida. Did investigate the possibility of emigrating there. Just not high enough up the food chain for them to give me a green card. HOwever, should I win the Lottery and become a millionaire, US Immigration will welcome me with open arms!
Then again, if I HAD that much money, I wouldn`t need a green card, as I wouldn`t want to work. So I can just spend 3 months at a time out there and not need US Immigration approval.

You rich enough to not work while you`re over there then?

if you try working in the USA without a green card, and get caught, you`ll get kicked out before you can say "american dream", and you`ll be banned from ever going back.
If you are really wanting to emigrate, then get yourself a Uni degree.
You might want to check out one of those Emigration thingys that are periodically held in various parts of the country. They hold seminars giving you info on what you need, and how to go about emigrating to other countries. I attended one at Epsom Race course several years ago.

I love both. London because it's part of home, but New York is fabulous. I think partly it was because you turn every corner in Manhattan and see a scene you've seen in lots of different films. Also though, there is a real quirky sense of 'what you see is what you get' and I think it's honesty sets it apart from many other parts of the states.
that pretty well sums up how I feel about the 2 places - I dont think I would want to live in either of them but love to visit - obviously London is a lot nearer than NY but like you say, in NY there are so many places that are familiar to you and so many wonderful places to visit - I wasnt especially bothered about the shops cos shops are shops the world over but the places are amazing and there is never a shortage of things to do in either of these cities.
