I suppose its OK if you have the money to buy memorabilia and the room to display it. I only live in a 1 bedroomed flat so no room here to display one of Jimi Hendrix's guitars or Ozzy Osbourne's bongs.
I watch a lot of daytime TV, legacy of being unemployed!!! If you are going to attain some memorabilia, either past or new, make sure that you get some sort of authentification, or as they like to call it "Provenance" this will greatly increase it's value in the future. It seems as is more and more the case in this existence that "proof" is what people need as nobody can be trusted. Who would not trust for example Ant and Dec when they did their alien autopsy? I believed it didn't you?

If ya gonna spend vast amounts of money on the memorabilia, you may as well purchase one of Bob Marleys spliffs, wooooaaahhhh value for *cough* spondoooliks *cough*
I know someone who bought a piece of wood from the fabric of the old Cavern Club where the Beatles played! - I mean, if you were walking past and some builder popped his head out the door and said "you want this old bit of crappy wood - I've just been ripping the floor up" you'd say "get lost loser, go chuck it in the skip with all the other crap". So why buy a chunk later on? Same goes for celebs' cast-offs. These objects gather their mystique over time - whilst all my old junk just rots away...

You aught to see the dollar signs spin round in my son in law`s eyes when he see all the authentic memorabilia laying around my house.
And that`s just what is visible. I`ve got loads of stuff tucked away in my attic. Particularly vinyl.

Your son will be down the auction houses while you`re still warm, ahem!
Nope. i`m beating him to it.
As soon as I can figure out how to sell things on eBay, that`s where they`re going.
I`m starting up a "house in the sun" fund. By the time I finish selling my memorabilia all off, I shall have enough for a large villa in the Canaries. With pool. And furniture.

I did have a LOT of stuff I picked up from car boots when my kids were younger. But we passed them on. They`d be worth an absolute fortune now, being the original stuff.
I have alot of 78s records. One of which is Elvis. Which was valued at £50, two years BEFORE he died. One of the things I have safe up in my attic.
I have noticed that a large amount of records have started appearing back in the charity shops again.
