I remember watching a UK TV program a while back which could have been on channel 4. I think was filmed on location in Orkney. It featured some divers exploring a rock column which created a whirlpool, and there were specialised miniature animals evolved to hold on in the tidal flow.

I seem to remember they also released some bodies to go through the rapids, but it is all very hazy! I think they must have been lifesized dummies released from the surface into the whirlpool with life jackets.

Does anyone remember this program and remember the location?
