Thanks John, I saw a pic the other day. The person who called Mr Tennant a 'weasel' in the last BBC article needs their eyes tested, lol.

I'll have a look at the lyrics Jess, have a feeling my friend found that song the other week. There was a passing comment on the bottom of a ceefax article the other day which said 'another' production was scheduled for the UK in 2006. Don't like the term 'another', does that mean different cast?

KG was on the heaven and earth (?) show on sunday morning (I got woken up by someone yelling 'Frasier's on the tv!') talking about life post Frasier and his faith. The Mail on Sunday's 'Night and day mag' also had a 4ish page article, which seemed like a transcript of his tv interview. Nothing new to report, other than he claims to have made contact with a man who lived 15 years before Jesus. Some ludicrous popinjay has thrown it out, so I can't post the quote Roll Eyes.

Hope everyone is well.

Yeah, I caught him on the Heaven and Earth Show. I thought he was surprisingly frank - some of the stuff at the end could have left him open to all sorts of snide remarks from the press (the stuff about him having conversations with people from the past) - as, indeed, the presenter of the show even took the mickey afterwards. Interesting though.

I don't know where the 'weasel' thing comes from with David Tennant either Ana, he's a beautiful man! And does anyone else think that costume is quite 'Frasier-around-season-three'-ish? I'm sure Frasier had a brown coat he used to wear over his suits around that time.

Thanks for the picture John, great new look for the Doctor. A 'weasel'?? Insanity! I agree, Tennent's new costume is very series 3 Frasier. Nice.

The latest on the Spamalot front is that they're doing a US/Canada tour next year, then in 2007 the show's going to Vegas, but with a new cast. The UK tour rumours keep popping up but, unfortunately, no one seems to know whether it'll be here soon and with the same cast intact. My fingers remain crossed!

KG on the 'Heaven & Earth' show sounded interesting. So I assume he's in the UK at the moment? Always good to know. Poor KG seems to be getting a bit of a pasting lately as a few days back he spoke out in support of the Iraq war. I'm sure he's said spoken out about Iraq in the past but the press seem to be paying attention to him this time. Strange.

I can't type for much longer, I've been playing on the Eye Toy a lot lately and it's broken me. Take care all!
Jess.

Just be careful you don't fall out the window while playing on the Eye Toy, Jess. Have you ever used the GameCube bongos? They're good fun.

I know Kelsey is a supporter of George Bush, hadn't heard his comments on the Iraq war though. Still, he's entitled to his opinion, he shouldn't be hunted down like a dog about it.

The GameCube Bongos are great fun, much less stressful than the Eye Toy. I've been rather nostalgic lately and bought myself a second-hand Sega Megadrive for £15. I still have all my old games and they're just as good as I remember. Addictive stuff.

It's been quiet here lately, hope you're all well.
Jess.

A Megadrive eh? Not bad for £15! For me, one of the most exciting things about Nintendo's next machine, Revolution, will be the ability to download all their old games - so we'll be able to play classics like Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, etc, along with playing brand spanking new games, all on the same machine! I can't wait.

It is very quiet here, yeah - not quite sure why. Maybe everyone else is doing the normal summer things of going outside occasionally!

Just a quick post to say hello! Aw, megadrive, how nostalgic! I remember geting to the last level of sonic 2 only to jump and pull the controller out causing the game to crash. Those were the days. Saw a trailer for the new Zelda a while back too. Shame it isn't in the cartoonish style of wind waker, but it still looks good.

Right, I'm going to watch voyage of the damned now. Why is that there are 260 odd epsiodes but you end up watching the same ones?

Always the way, Ana! I've seen Ham Radio far too many times now, so I've decided it has to stop - I won't watch it for a good while so it seems more fresh to me next time I do.

And, let's face it, there are three seasons we can discount from our re-watching of Frasier - none of us are that likely to sit down and put on anything from seasons 8-10, are we, when seasons 1-7 are sitting there waiting for us? Or are we...?

I would've liked to see the next Zelda in the same Wind Waker visual style too, but unfortunately it seems Nintendo has caved in to the pressure from unimaginative morons and made it 'realistic'. Mind you, it does look rather stunning.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

The new Zelda game looks fantastic, but I'll miss the Wind Waker look too. It's a shame that there was an uproar about the "cartoon" look, I thought it was fantastic. Ah well, I could never fall out with Nintendo.

The Nintendo Revolution is going to be brilliant, very nice of them to give us all the old games on download. It can't come out soon enough.

Ana, the Megadrive is as tempremental now as it was ten years ago. Bless it. I also managed to dig up my old Mega CD, and it works. By gad. It was cutting-edge at the time, but it's not aged well.

Even though the new Frasiers get better the more you watch them you can't beat the oldies. I've been watching my 'Best Of Frasier' vidoes over these dull summer days and they never get tiresome. You've inspired me John, Ham Radio it will be tonight, hurray!

Just read an article saying that we students will spend £9bn next year. That's something to look forward to.

Is it me or have some of our posts gone missing? I've not looked into which have disappeared but I'm sure there were more than 33 posts last time I checked. C4 are up to something again...

Take care!
Jess.

Well, I sure as hell won't be! I'll be lucky if I can spend 9p.

Haven't noticed any posts go missing but it wouldn't surprise me. Boo.

Amusing news: the DVD box-set of season one of 'Joey', the new smash-hit sitcom (well, NBC says so) reached No. 45 in the DVD chart this week. Last week, season four of Frasier, that rather old-fashioned and unpopular sitcom (well, NBC says so) made it to No. 37. Ho-ho.

Hope everyone's enjoying their summer. I've been flogging half my belongings to make some money. I suppose I could get a job, but where's the fun in that?

Hello! My game cube's been collecting dust recently, I'm worried about being drawn in to wind waker again. So many mini quests so little time. Must get a new game or two soon.

9bn? Oh dear.

You're right about S8-10 John, think I'll make an effort to watch some episodes. Voyage of the damned was as funny as ever, the 'especiol lady' bit is another one of those Frasier lines that seems to find its way into conversations.

Felt like watching 'how to bury a millionaire' the other day but my friend has had that tape for the past year, lol.

Ooh, I love 'How To Bury A Millionaire'. Season six is out on DVD next month (if you're buying from America, anyway), and I can't wait to get stuck into it again. A hugely underrated season, I reckon!

I've been getting drawn into 'Pikmin 2' on the GameCube over the last few days. I adored the first one, it's one of my favourite games ever, but didn't get to play the sequel until coming home from uni. It's absolutely amazing. I love those little guys, the way they follow you singing and obeying your every order, even when that order is to send them to certain death. Brilliant!

I know, they didn't let that hang around long, did they? They seem to be behaving very oddly at the moment...

I'm still waiting to recieve season 4 as a birthday present from a friend John, don't think I've ever seen the very (very) beginning of mixed doubles. Yup S6 is underrated John, the whole slightly darker tone (plots and colour) is wonderful.

Is KG's new show called 'medium'? If so I read somewhere that the BBC have picked it up and plan to show it later this year.

Sorry about your thread Mickey!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks,
Ana

I didn't even know that Kelsey had a new show - so it's interesting if the BBC has picked it up. Is he starring in it or just producing/directing?

Hello everyone and nice to see you're back, Mickey!

KG's new show, "Medium" is about a woman who solves crimes using her supernatural powers. KG, unfortunately, is only executive producer, but perhaps he'll get a part in it at some point.

I haven't been on the GameCube for a long time either. The last game I went on was Super Monkey Ball 2, which remains as addictive (and frustrating) as ever.

S6 is wonderful but I haven't seen it in so long. I remember Alison Graham's write-ups though. Tsk. At the moment I've been going all the way back to the first series and the genius that is "My Coffee With Niles". It's amazing how Frasier gets better and better with age.

Hope you're all having a nice weekend!
Jess.

Channel 4 is screening a Frasier double whammy in 7 minutes, because of the lack of cricket

I wasn't in for that - what episodes did they show, Meg?

Frasier does get better with age, you're right Jess. I think partly that's because no other sitcom has come close since, or is ever likely to. That's quite a sad thought in a way.

Greetings all! I keep forgetting about this place, to an extent ("there is no such thing as accident!") because our thread kept being deleted. I posted (I think) on our e-group thingy a couple of weeks ago to say that I now have a "blog". Frightfully modern and with-it, eh, for someone so aged as myself. Mind you, I haven't written on it since my birthday, which was about 10 days ago.

Anyway. Among my birthday presents was a Season 4 box set (early, so it arrived asap after release date too) which I've been watching. It contains, of course, my second all-time-favourite episode, "Death and the Dog" (my first all-time-favourite episode being "Perspectives on Christmas" and third being "Big Crane on Campus" and fourth being "Moon Dance" and fifth being "Ham Radio" and sixth being... ooh, this is too difficult for me...)... and now I've lost the thread of my punctuation. Typical.

And of course I've been watching the reruns on That Other Channel We'd Better Not Mention. Early Season 8 at present, not my favourite period but, oh well.

In other news... I was in Dublin for a few days in the second half of July; I've been reading lots but not the new "Harry Potter". If Harry and Hermione have sex, will it be HP Sauce? Just a thought. My favourite book of the summer so far has been the new novel by Patrick Gale, which I'd thoroughly recommend to all the thread's regulars. It's called "Friendly Fire" and one may read about it on amazon. (Just had a slightly Nilesian moment there, trying and failing to usher a bluebottle out of my study - forsooth!). I also enjoyed "44 Scotland Street" by Alexander McCall Smith, in which one of the characters reminded me a little of Maris, if only because she regularly visited the "Floatarium", but also of Mel, because of her ruthless ambition (in this case for her five-year-old son) and self-centredness.

The other news is that - some of you will recall my dilemma in the e-community thingy - I did indeed resolve the dilemma and get a new car. "It's something called... a hatchback" but it possesses finesse and speed and I really love it.

And so, I think, it may be time to draw this ENH-style long post to a conclusion. I hope you'll all continue to contribute to the e-community thingy as it was a rather brilliant idea in the first place... and that everyone's having a pleasant summer.

Remember. Go easy on the fake tan. This summer, there are already enough Oompa-Loompas...

'HP Sauce'? You really should be writing for The Sun, CL!

I hope you had a lovely birthday. Oh, to be 21 again!

Too hot today. I'm sick of it. Why can't it rain for a few days and cheer everyone up?

At the moment, I'm reading 'At Swim, Two Boys' by Jamie O'Neill. It's set in Dublin in 1916, the time of Ireland's uprising against the British. It centres around the blossoming friendship and love between two boys who make a pact to swim to the Muglins rock and claim it for their country. It's a fascinating, romantic, great big fat book.

HP sauce? Great stuff. Ditto, hope you had a nice Birthday. Channel that must not be named has still not returned to our cable package (sulks). Thanks for the book recommendations CL.

I saw another DHP licence plate the other day Sideshow meg. Could it be some sort of sign? lol.

Did anyone watch lost last night? It was pretty good although I'm wondering if all the hype has clouded my judgement.

Think I'll go and watch 'good grief' now.

Anyone else like Catherine Tate?

"Am I bothered? Am I bothered though?"

Actually I am a bit bothered, as in tonight's show the whole concept of the girlfriend with the large nose visiting Gran in hospital was lifted straight out of Roz and the Schnoz!

Take the shame...
