I discovered this site via a friend, who's a fan of Time Team. I can't receive channel four here, but some programs are available. Tell me about your channel and it's programs. Am I dealing with education or sports? Arts or tabloid? I personally watch every British program available. My current fav's are Heartbeat, The Royal, Most Haunted, New Tricks, MANY "Brit Com's" (as we call it) and of course...Coronation Street.
Like us "Brits" it is very varied in it's content, quiz shows, news, factual, comedy, drama, old films, new films, repeats, fly on the wall documentaries, repeats, talk shows, magazine shows, repeats, real life drama, repeats and oh of course repeats

Not forgetting that Channel 4 is THE home of Big Brother & Celebrity Big Brother. Which Cavedweller may or may not have heard of recently.
Of course the most recent winner "Lady Muck" Shilpa is meeting Hugh Grant to see if she likes him enough to work with him on her next film which is apparenlty going to be made in Hollywood.
As far as I`m concerned, even if an actor/actress hates their co-star they should be good enough for it not to show on the big screen, so if Queen Shilpa can only work with people she likes, then she can`t be THAT good of an actress.

Calm down my dear.
No need to panic.
It`s one of the Colonials across the pond who`s watching Heartbeat and The Royal!
Don`t you think it`s great that now it`s OUR turn to shove tastless TV in their direction for a change??

Ignore us Cavedweller, we`re only teasing you.
But seriously, rural 60`s village life was never like that, except in the eyes of the americans, or TV makers wearing rose tinted glasses.

Well, I am surprised! I realize Heartbeat is somewhat "fantastic" in it's portrayal of rural life, but had no idea of the level of distaste for this show. I enjoy it for the easiness of the settings, the landscapes and of course the music. Since it's been 1969 for about 5 years now, it features many of favourite bands. Oh well, forgive me, I'll head back to my cave now.
I bet you think some of the stuff "you" send over to us is dross, but we still lap it up!
Most of our programming is american made. I say "american" as I`m too stupid to tell the difference between "american" and "canadian". Fellow Brits will probably know what I mean, even if Americans and Canadians go at us not being able to tell the difference.

Oh Canada - the answer to your question is TABLOID, TABLOID, TABLOID. Look out for 'Celebrity P**s and sh**e' - it cannot be far away. This was once a very good quality TV Channel - how sad. I don't mind your choice of viewing, but must take issue with 'Most Haunted'!! What the???

I think Cave dweller has it spot on. Most Haunted is a true blue BritCom!

You're right about Most Haunted. Definately proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that ghosts are not real. I don't think you would have seen any of our Canadian programs in the U.K. Frankly, we're just not good enough. We are improving, 20 years ago there was only 3 actors for every show. Nowadays, there are at least 7.
Lol I know I've heard it, Lenoard Nimoy hasn't got that bad a voice but William shatner's singing is even more Hammy than is acting if that's even possible
