Yeah I suppose so, but it's where the money is to be made. It's a bit different for the big British actors, they seem to act for acting still not the money so they still do the Theatre here!

"Embiggens, phfft that isn't even a word"

"Of course it is Lisa, it's a perfectly crumulent word"

That's what I like about British actors. It's not all about the glamour, it's the acting.

Ghosts DO exist.

What annoys me about that Most Haunted programme is that they are there to find ghosts, they call out to them in a dark room and then when they hear a noise or feel something they run off screaming… it looks so stupid and amateurish; if they were serious about it they would stay where they were to see what else happened. They will never find anything if they run away making lots of noise at the first sign of anything interesting.

Most Haunted isn`t about finding ghosts.

It`s about making the host wanting to become a household name.

Until she presents it in a proper way she will continue to look like an idiot. My Grandmother makes less fuss and more sense than her!

Yvette is a household name. I read that she is one of Britains most popular hosts. What I like about Haunted is the history behing many of the properties they visit. The rest I take as just entertainment.
Heartbeat rules!!! You have a ghost of a chance to prove me otherwise. Moon

It probably does 'rule' when compared to your American stuff. Have you really nothing better to offer us than Friends? Big Grin

Many of the places they go to do have a reputation of being haunted. It`s just that the show itself is not being made with a genuine desire to see ghosts.

Re: 'Most Haunted'. Am I understanding this thread correctly? People are complaining that the makers of this programme are not acting professionally?

I have seen this programme. Leaving aside the fact that the fools and charlatans in it couldn't find there own asses with both hands - how can they 'find' something which does not exist - no matter how professional they were?

As far as ghosts are concerned, I would like to believe, but there has never been anything to convince me of their exsistance. If the Most Haunted crew did truly want to find something, they could leave a residence monitered for days if not weeks.
Never mind. Still better than Friends eh?

I`ve seen ghosts. So I know they exist.

But I can`t prove it to anyone else.

Plus I`ve seen other signs of ghostly visitation. But again, I can`t prove it to anyone else.

My sister saw the same ghost as I did, but on a different occasion.

My sister`s twin daughters saw a ghost in a bedroom of their house. My sister couldn`t see it, but she asked politely if he could stop scaring the girls. The twins never saw him afterwards in the bedroom. Although they saw him again when they went next door to their neighbours.

What I wonder about is, could ghosts just be a cultural thing?.Countries like the Netherlands, aswell as others, do not even acknowledge the concept of "ghosts".

The Dutch are a rational people! The concept of 'Ghosts' exists in many cultures. I cannot understand, though, why any Christian, Jew or Muslim can subscribe to this view as the tenets of these religions promise the adherents that at the moment of death they will fly to the arms of their creator and live with him in paradise. What merciful creator would leave one of his children hanging around in someone's bathroom/bedroom, cellar of a crappy old pub etc.,? This makes no sense.

Yeah I've seen some weird stuff; the first was a translucent small boy stood staring at me when I woke up one morning, he vanished after perhaps a minute. Another more recent incident was about 3 years ago when I saw about 12 WW2 Mosquitos flying across in front of me at about the hieght of electricity pylons as I drove along a country road, there was one following about half a mile behind who seemed to be having serious trouble staying in the air, it was badly dragging its left wing and weaving up and down, there was no engine noise from any of them and I happen to know that there were no airworthy examples in existance anywhere in the world at the time... it was the strangest thing I've ever seen. I lost sight of them behind a hedge and by the time the view cleared again the sky was completly empty.

Interesting stuff. If there is a world of the dead, I suppose it lies between this world and "paradise".Suggesting that some people can not or choose not to step over, as they say.
Go on, say it. The world of the dead is for viewers of Heartbeat, go on, I know you're dying to. Cool

Ah, I see that you are in fact a believer, although you do not admit it. I have never seen a Ghost - I will never see a Ghost (because there are none), however, I have BEEN a ghost. I will share with you this tale from my earlier life. When I was younger and living with my family, I was lying in bed one night when I realized that the front door of the house was open. I rose from my bed, walked through the main room of the house, closed the door and returned to my bed. I heard a couple of my relatives speak in another room. Shortly after that my relatives ran into my bedroom in order to satisfy themselves that I was there. They were highly excited and demanded to know if I had left my room. Something in their demeanour made me say that I had not, as I realized what had happened. They then went on to tell me that they had just seen a tall figure, in a flowing robe, move without sound through the main room of the house and out the front door. When they ran to the door no-one was outside. I am tall, I was wearing a flowing robe, am light on my feet, and was without shoes. My relatives had observed me going to the front door, but had not seen me return as they were busy asking each other if they had seen the apparition. Thus can the human eye - and mind - deceive itself, for they chose to believe that they had seen my dead sibling pass through the house instead of seeking a more rational explanation. I myself am partly to blame for this but, seeing the eagerness and joy in their eyes I had not the heart to tell them that the ghost was me.
