Transport for London has launch a cinema and poster campaign to encouarge people to be more considerate to one another when using public trnasport in London.

People listening to their music too loudly, eating smelly food and not letting elderly passengers have their seat. This kind of irritating behaviour can ruin your journey

To sum this up "A little thought from each of us. A big difference for everyone."

Do you think you are a considerate passenger?

People can play their MP3 music as loud as they want. People can eat smelly food if they want/

These things do not annoy me.

These things do not annoy me because generally these people are behaving themselves.

What does annoy me are those people who are shouting and swearing and jumping around all over the place.

These are the people who we should be annoyed at, and who this campaign should be directed.

Like aNGELUS states, the people eating and listening to music are generally ok (as long as they take their smelly dogburger cartons and put them in the bin after use). In my home town I only use the 'Park n Ride" transport which is always used by considerate passengers, myself included Smile When on holiday I would sometimes use the public transport available and things which would annoy me would be kids rampaging up and down, people who put their feet on the seats and threatening hehaviour of any kind including begging, drunks and misc yobbos

I use the bus daily.
What is it with people who sit in the aisle seat leaving the window seat vacant?
Even when the bus is almost full.
I accuse both sexes and all age groups of doing this.

I think I am. I pay the driver the fare, sit down, keep quiet, look out of the window and watch the world go by.

You do get quite a few idiots get on the bus, whose every 2nd and 3rd word begins with an 'f' but to be fair the bus companies can't do too much about that. The poster campaign seems like a good idea though. They could employ 'bouncers' to accompany the drivers but this will push fares up even higher. Frown

I remember one bus journey into the city a few years ago. The bus stopped outside a pub en route and about 15 or so drunk people got on, very rowdy, mostly men standing up and sitting at the front of the bus. I recognised a few faces from my past as a kid (as I wear specs nowadays no-one noticed me thank God). They were rude to the driver and rude to the guy sitting behind me as he was wearing the chav gear - to his credit he didn't react when he was called a 'burgalar'. Amazingly, they only wanted to go about 3-400 yards down the road to the next stop where another pub was. Confused That could have been £1 saved per person! Roll Eyes I hope they all got the hangovers from hell the next morning! Angry

I only use the bus service on Saturday evenings when I go out for a few jars. My main gripe with bus cos are the fares that they charge, which have gone up by 100% in ten years! Eek It was £1 for a single fare back in '98 (used the bus almost daily back then) whereas its £2 now, and the service is as equally average as it was then. Mad

Seems to be mutally exclusive when the Government are trying to get us motorists out of our cars and onto public transport, yet the privatised companies increase the fares! Shake Head

I sit in the aisle seat so I have somewhere to put my bags when I am on the bus, however if the bus were full I would most certainly put the bags on my knee however the bus I use is rarely full at the times when I travel. I think its is fair to say that most people like a double seat to themselves if they are travelling alone either on the bus or train but what irritates me is the people who wont budge up when their are no seats and still want a double seat to themselves lol

I think people who won't use public transport are a bunch of snobs. If we all used public transport it would be much more eco-friendly. Here in Nottingham we have a fairly new tram system and it is really good. True, there are some inconsiderate people who use it, but on the whole it really works.

Using public transport should have nothing to do with whichever 'class' you perceive yourself to be in. We should all use it if we are responsible citizens.

using public transport is not always an option for shift workers. you are lucky in you live in an area with good public transport but in rural areas some ppl would struggle to get about their daily activities without their own tranport but I take your point what you say about public transport should be classless. Some people are so far up themselves of course that they think public transport is for anybody but them

The timings of the bus services is not conducive for me to use to get back and forwards to work.

Not only would I get home an hour and a half later, I`d hve to leave home 90mins earlier as well. That may not sound a lot, but when you take into consideration I work 12 hour shifts, and it normally takes me 45 mins each way in the car, if you add on another 3 hours travelling that adds up to a 16.5 hour day, and that`s without cooking anything to eat before/after work as well as trying to fit in a decent amount of sleep.
