just cos there are 7 of them doesnt necessarily mean they intend to do anythng or anybody any harm however it is intimidating especially for elderly people - you just have to hope they grow out of it without getting into bother

Even the elderly were young once, and the young wondering aound town in groups is not confined to the youngters of today.
Todays elderly of around 68-75yrs old would be teenagers in the mid/late 50s when the Teddy Boys were at their height.
Even the elderly who have just hit their 60s would have been teenagers during the hippy days of the late 1960s. Who can forget the headlines when the press reported the pitched battles between the MODS and ROCKERS
Those "elderly" who are around my age would have been either a "skin head" or a "greaser". And few years after that came the Punk Rock era.
So there`s no way the elderly can claim "their" generations were squeaky clean and caused no bother to their own elders.
So, I`m afraid when the elderly complain of "the youth of today", they are conveniently forgetting the troubles caused by their own generations.

They`re just more sensationalised by the press is all.
Besides, when you are "younger" you automatically think you`re invincible anyway. But I bet your parents were just as nervous going out then as you are now.
