let them be kids while they are kids - let them learn thru play and also learn social skills with kids their own ages - rather tahn filling their heads with facts n figures at an early age - plenty of time for that when they are older

And boy, wasn't she annoying. The mother though was dreadful, saying that her call to the local paper got blown out of all proportion, but why call the local paper in the first place?
The mother who had two boys was terrible! I can't remember the name of the boy but she said "I don't see him as being special anymore" and she completely seemed to under-appreciate her other son . Even the woman who carried out the IQ tests with the boys said that he was smarter than either himself or his mother gave him credit for.
I know that if you have a gifted child then you have to do the best to nurture that gift, with better schools etc, but it shouldn't be at the price of your other child.
