nope, not really.

I may have been replying to you post.

But the object of my eye rolling was pots and pans.

For not staying on topic, as she accused me of not doing when I replied to her disapproval of my use of that emoticom.

But akk, eating a maccy D`s is unhealthy. Smile

So these athletes who would be working for Maccy D`s under your rule, would be contributing to people`s future heart attacks. Your doctrine wouldn`t be funding heart surgery, so these people would die.

Doesn`t that mean that these athletes would be guilty of manslaughter? (thereby deserving of the death sentence as your doctrine does`nt allow killers to remain alive).

And as YOU made the athletes work there in the first place. YOU would be guilty of contributary manslaughter as well.

So we`d have to execute you as well, because we don`t let killers live. Big Grin

But only a couple of hundred of these atheltes are "professional" amateurs. The remaining thousands are like you and I, ordinary Joes who have normal jobs and who jog and run for fun*. and to raise a little charity money on the side.

Some of these people running the London marathon ARE little grey haired old ladies. Who would be extremely insulted if someone thought they were incapable of changing their own light bulbs.

Not all of these people running the marathon are fit either. Some are cancer patients, some have had heart surgery, and are running or walking the marathon to help raise money to help other people who are needing the help they`ve already had.

What about the wheelchair competitors? They wouldn`t be able to REACH the light bulbs of the little grey haired old ladies. Smile

* Personally I don`t DO running.

the grey haired old lady is in a wheel chair!

as for Charity ...we wouldn`t go down that avenue very much cos the malingerers will be
humanely ousted out of my orbit! Big Grin

come on,why are you wanting people to live in this bad world...as i`ve said previously...
we are lucky to have all sorts of devices
for the unlucky 3 percent ....
let`s free those carers and money for
better things!

Is there a PERSONAL why reason you care so much?

note: I think you`re putting up a good
argument for the normal put upon charitable
public...but things cannot go on like this!

How many over 80/90`s are there with

conditions we could solve with a CLICK OFF! Eek

Have you ever watched the London Marathon?????

There are the "professional" athletes, and serious male runners in one batch. then there are the serious female runners in a second batch (along with their male pacemakers). A third batch of competitors are in wheelchairs.

Finally, half an hour later, the hordes are started. The "FUN RUNNERS" they are called. Personally I see nothing fun about running 26 or so miles. But I do admire those that attempt it, including those that have to give up halfway round. For the last few years there has been a steady increase in pensioners taking part. One old lady was 84 one year, and she took part again the following year. And she wasn`t the only competitor in the 70/80 age bracket.

You claim this is a bad world, but how do you know it`s any better afterwards?

Yes, akk there is.

I plan to live forever, or die trying.

So I certainly don`t want some penny pinching scrooge deciding that my life is not worth living.

Ever seen the film Logans Run? They chose 30 as the cut off time for blowing people up.

Besides which if you kill off all the old and infirm you`re going to be putting an lot of people back onto the jobs market. Not just the family carers, but surgeons, Doctors, Nurses, physiotherapists, chemists, research scientists, biologists, plus all the related non medical jobs that depend upon the medical profession - people who make bed pans, people who make the plastic containers that the pills go in. people who make the syringes that dispense medication. People who make plastic tubing that run air hoses. People who make ICU monitors. Factories that make the computer chips that run the ICU monitors. Hospital Janitors, ancilliary workers etc etc ad infinitum

All these people are going to be looking for other jobs in a sudden job shortage. So you`ll end up paying benifits for these people because YOUve made them redundant.

And once all these people lose their jobs, they then cannot afford things they used to be able to buy. So the follow on will be that a lot of jobs, in the leisure sector will also go, as more and more people will be unable to pursue leisure activities. So, no more trips to the cinema, so that puts cinema staff out of work, as well as those who supply the sweets, popcorn, icecream to the cinemas. People won`t be able to afford go out for meals, which puts restaurants out of business, along with all their suppliers. people certainly won`t be able to afford to go on holidays, whcih puts all the hotels and THEIR suppliers and anciliary workers out of a job.

With a sudden shortage of PAYE coming in, the Government will have to make financial cutbacks. Usual policy is to make workers redundant. Plus cutting abck on services. Dustbin collection for one. Which the adds the problem of pest control and pestilence. Which the Government will not have the money to deal with.

Your world, if you follow it to it`s logical conclusion is unsustainable.

Aarrgh, no. Do not stamp on akk's spleen, you endanger us all. It is not YOU who live in akk's body, but WE.

pseu, have you considered that there may be only you and akk in this whole forum. Is it perhaps a web he weaves to trap you?

My Friend, you are a genius. Imagine the tv ratings for such a relegation battle!!

I am glad you appreciate my fine idea! Even though it was kind of stolen from akkkkkcrawley's average idea. But he forgot about promoting the dead people, which is surely the best bit.

Ressurecting dead people isn`t going to be part of Akk`s ethics, as it would cost far too much money to bring them back.

But suppose it was.

Who would be in your top 10 of poeple to bring back to life, and why? They don`t have to be British, they can be any nationality.
