Some people say that doing yoga makes them feel healthier and fitter. Are these claims the result of psychological changes in the mind or physiological effects on the body? Is the concept of 'doing yoga' having a placebo effect - making you think that you feel better when in fact there has been no change?
I have never done yoga but I can only imagine it would be more psychological or maybe even spiritual for some people ,I dont really know to be honest but I would imagine a good thing to do
I thought it helped to keep you toned and supple - physical benefits.

I do pilates instead of yoga. I've done yoga in the past though. Pilates to me is just yoga with concentrating on the physical effort rather than the psychological. Yoga moves are very physical though, and I think the strength building of this kind of exercise is very under-estimated.
I do remember doing a walking meditation in yoga once and it was really good.
