I just wanted to moan about the total lack of decent bra shops in my area! I'm a 44dd and trying to get a bra in town is a nightmare. The selection that M&S have is more akin to scaffolding in my opinion! Don't these companies realise that us bigger girls want to wear sexy undies as well. I have found loads of bras in ebay shops so why can't our High Street stores cater for us as well.

Have you tried Evan's in Aberdeen? Also Asda do some larger sizes now, which fit well.

Bravissimo is great and they are online bravissimo.com. They do have one in Glasgow, but not in Aberdeen... give them ring they may be able to help you over the phone and they have a wide range of sizes.

I know exactly how you feel, I live in dundee and had to travel down to manchester to get a good fitting in bravissimo and I can tell you i recently got an email from them (as I am registered online) and they are opening a shop in Aberdeen soon, yeay for us! The online shopping is good and if the bra needs to be returned for a different size the return postage is free! I salute bravissimo and would recommend a fitting, they take 20 mins and the women are amazinly helpful and polite!!

lol Aberdeen? i live in liverpool and you would think with all the shops around here i would be able to get one...i did eventually- but that was it ONE. We have the staples like george (asda) BHS, M&S, Lewis' but then theres the little independant shops and La Senza....all i managed was a standard t shirt bra from marks and im only a 32E (its just big enough to go off the standard shops bra radios but its not as if it is excessive)
With people having boob jobs these days to go to Ds and DDs (only one size off myself) i do not understand why i can only ever find suspention cabling constructions for things like bikinis and general underwear. I use bravissimo...but some of the styles just aren't me...they always sell out of the ones that i like!

Biggest problem i have encountered is sports bras! according to the bra it says i would need (if in the shock absorber style) impact level 4....has anyone else ever tried these?? VILE i could have given the jean paul gaultier madonna cone look a run for its money....so i ordered one from bravissimo...now i am not that big in comparrison to a lot of women who will order from them for bras due to lack of shop stuff...but this was AWFUL a loose t-shirt would have had more support...it hurt to merely jog on the spot so imagine full sport?!
any ideas for where to find a decent sports bra?

oooops!! It seems my celebrating about Bravissimo has been short-lived as they only do up to a size 40 on the website. Does anyone know if they have bigger sizes ie: 44dd in their shops?

I agree its hard work finding bras of that size. I needed a slightly bigger size, and got a Triumph one, and a Naturana one from bareessentials.co.uk. There are some out there, but if you have been measured properly, the internet can be your oyster!!

I was measured in M&S about a year ago. The assistant actually said i was a 46d but they only sold up to a 44dd and she said it would be a near enough fit. I'll have a look at bareessentials and see what they have.

Re;Sports bra the Berlei 109 is a good sports bra it has to come up high at the front to reduce the bounce if it,s to low then your boobs go out of control.Panache are redesigning theirs which is excellent it looks more like a crop top and you would be able to wear it as that.I have a lass who travels all the way from Liverpool to be fitted.
Aberdeen Mum if i can getmy e-mail to you will you send me some details and i,ll try and help you the best way i can (times like this i wish i was nearer )lol

The continuing saga of trying to get a bra -
ordered a Triumph Doreen bra from Simply Be, I've no idea what on earth it was that they sent me but it certainly wasn't what I ordered. It was a 2 pack of underwired bras and the cup size was so huge my hubby said we could go camping in them. I'm tempted to take a pic of me wearing it on my head before I return it lol
