As bobwallett posted the 80's film thread, thought I'd do a 70's one as the 70's is my favourite decade for films;

Taxi Driver
The Last Tycoon
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Straw Dogs
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Missouri Breaks
Dog Day Afternoon
The Deer Hunter
Apocalypse Now
The Conversation
Serpico
The Last Detail
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
One Flew Over The cuckoo's Nest
The French Connection
The Outlaw Josey Wales
The Sting
Enter The Dragon

The French Connection - Best Car chase ever, EVER!!!
Midnight Express - The 'shawshank' of the 70's
Kelly Heroes - Should be oddball's heroes, Sutherland makes this movie
Mean Streets - Ahh where it all began; Kietel, De Niro, Marty; COOL!!!!!!
The Getaway - McGraw was a lucky woman!

My favourite 70's film?

The Swarm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Swarm_%28movie%29

The theme, the sets, the fashions, the acting...Always brings the 70's flooding back to me.

It's not a timeless classic and therefore just seems more 70's than a movie that's stood the test of time.
