What do you think happened immediately before the end of The Blair Witch Project in the derelict building?

As I remember she bursts into the house (or is it the cellar of the house) and finds her mate stood staring at the wall like a naughty school boy.

Is it all left to the viewer's own interpretation or did it all go over my head?

Not one of my favourite movies but even years later I still think about it. Since I only watched it once that's not bad for a movie. I've a memory like a goldfish.

I vaguely remember one of the locals telling them a story about a man who used to take kids to a house in the woods and murder them - he used to make one stand in the corner facing the wall while he killed the other one.

Ahhh, that would explain it.

I missed that bit, although the ending of the movie stayed with me I remember finding a lot of the movie tedious and my mind probably wandered at points.

I wonder if it will stand up to a repeat viewing?

I had to watch it a few times to get what was going on, it's def worth a second watch though.

I thought that film entirely fake, phony and pointless.

I mean seriously a stranger just happens to tell you the kids use to stand in the corner while the guy murders the other one and then suddenly you're doing too? Get real, those kids probably moved to alaska or something and just never got seen again....by the right people . That footage is entirely spoofed and a typical joke. I was bored by it (as you may have guessed).

And no I have not been desensitized by T.V violence.

what are you on about...its a great film. the point of the film is three kids investigating the legend of the blair witch. part of that legend is the guy who killed the kids in his celler. so of course when the kids ask him about the blair witch hes gona tell them about the guy in the celler. especaly since he lives in the town next to the wood where it was suppost to happen.

You do realize it's fiction?

Well actually the kids never existed, they were figments of the writers imagination. It's just a story.

Once again, it's not real...It's just a fictional story filmed from the characters point of view.

I think you have been desensitized by TV violence. "and a typical joke. I was bored by it (as you may have guessed)" - It might not be a brilliant film but it is at least quite a good movie. It's tense, edgey, etc...And it's about the violent death of some kids in the past and the three film-makers in the movie. You sound pretty desensitized about it.

You seemed to have blurred the line between reality and fiction.

Even with all the attempts by the promotion of the movie to spread rumours it was real no sensible adult would have believed it was real. It was all to do with getting involved in the story and a willing suspension of disbelief.

I think you have them crying now !
Never seen the film, thought seeing poorly filmed footage of kids getting wound up and snifiling into a camera pointless.
Hats off though to making a few bucks on a small budget.

A friend of mine went to see this at the cinema when it was first released and he was literally petrified LOL.

To be honest it is one of the Dumbest piece of Rubbish to come out of the states for years and thats saying something. When I watched it, I thought it was a spoof film like (SCARY MOVIE).

Blair Witch II - Book Of Shadows, was far better even though it was just as dumb as the first one lol. Oh well everyone has their own opinions on what is scary I suppose, but IMHO Blair Witch is just not scary, more, how can I put this? PATHETIC! Big Grin Witch

I think it's pretty impressive for a film with a $35,000 budget. Think of all the cr@p that's made with 10,000 times more money.

Good point Flooper! It was all the hype that built it up to be something really great so when we all saw it we were dissapointed, but i didn't think it was that bad. Smile
