lost highway was very confusing for no very good reason.millers crossing needs several viewings before you can understand the plot and i defy anyone to follow the plot of the big sleep
Donnie Darko isn't confusing..it's what you make of it yourself..that's half the fun!
Anyone seen the Director's Cut?
The most confusing film for me was probably Jacob's Ladder. I think a few more of you said it aswell. Now i've seen it a couple more times now, i love it!
Some1 mentioned Eraserhead..i thought that was pretty crazy. When the women in the radiator is doing the weird dance on the stage thing, and all the entrails are being dropped on her. I didn't like the end of that movie though..too much puss!!

I could explain this if enough people are interested. You need to understand some very basic Freudian dream theory, and that the narrative structure contains a 'narrative present', a couple of 'flashbacks' and a 'dream/fantasy sequence' and you're there.
Originally posted by Edgey: Blade Runner. I didn't understand the bit when Deckard has the dream about the Unicorn.
Well it indicates that he is a replicant. If you remember, Gaff, the guy who makes little objects from paper, left one which resembled a unicorn in Deckard's appartment. On discovering it, Deckard realises that his memories and dreams are 'implants' and that they are now on to him to be 'retired'. This is why he scarpers at the end with Rachel.
The unicorn dream-sequence was put in at the request of the producers I believe, as it is not in the original director's cut, neither is the voice-over.
The most confusing film ive ever seen has to be a tale of two sisters... I thought I understood, then suddenly I had no idea. Took a few watches to figure it out.. and to be honest im still not completely sure if ive got it right
The most confusing film I've seen is probably 'Woyzeck', a Herzog film (one of the Klaus Kinski ones). I understood some of the more basic elements of the plot, but I found some of it very confusing, and a little annoying. That's not to say I didn't think it was a good film, and I might have understood it a little better if I'd read the synopsis on the box first, but I just found it difficult to connect with.
Vanilla Sky, what was that all about? I was confused by Donny Darko too, but enjoyed it enough not to be bothered that I didnt understand it. Ditto 2001.

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider: whats that all about then?
NO OVERSIZED SIGNATURES. "I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me..."[/SUB]
