For me, it has to be Nicole Kidman - any film which is predicated on the viewer being bowled over by her supposed beauty can forget it, from my viewpoint. Am I the only one on the planet who thinks her eyes are too close together?

old trout: what films ever been sold on the basis of Nicole Kidman's beauty? The Hours? lol. Sorry, no offense, I just think she is amazing But I was wondering.

Russell Crowe
He is just so arrogant and it comes across in his acting. He wasn't bad in Master and Commander but I gotta say I'm not a massive fan. I have been trying to make up my mind about Julia Stiles but I now think she's pretty good and I guess the fact that she's got a part in a West End show must count for something. As has the actress who played Willow in Buffy for that matter...
Ryan rocks, Seth steams and I am first in line to Marisa's job

------------------------------------------------ I agree with Lorna301. Nicole is both beautiful and talented and she is not afraid to change her face to play the ugly!!! I wish my eyes were as ugly as hers!!
Charlize Theron Julia Roberts Uma Thurman Sandra Bullock Julianne Moore Keira Knightley
Nicole Kidman is the only one of these who is genuinely an actress, the rest are just lucky to be born good-looking or well-connected. Kidman is talented, but not nearly as much as the critics seem to think. They seem to be dazzled by the fact that a woman who is so pretty is also able to do act tolerably well, that might explain some of that over-the-top praise she gets. I thought she was good in The Others, but I've never seen anything great from her. She hasn't much versatility. As for Theron, I haven't seen Monster, but when I have seen her on screen she's dull but tries hard. A female Keanu Reeves. Julianne Moore was good in 2 really good movies, the rest is crap.

You are probably right. But for an entrance, Cameron's in The Mask (in the bank) was as good as anything John Wayne could muster. (Or am I just a sad, red-blooded male?)
if any of you ppl say edward norton i will personaly just moan on this forum. The reason i think people are saying al pacino is ebcause of his bad movie choices recently...or bad scripts going his way. I agree with jude law and richard gere.
One that was really over rated was Clark Gable and from the present I think Orlando Bloom needs to have some acting lessons pretty damn quick, before his looks fade and he is left with nothing.
i find it strangethat somebody could say all of russell crowe's roles are the same. In Romper Stomper, LA Confidential, The Insider and Gladator he gives excellent and very differing performances.
De Niro hasn't done aything good in a while but to say that the man who gave performances such as those in The Deer Hunter, Mean Streets, The Godfather II, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfelas and Cape Fear is over-rated is beyond belief.
I suppose life would be boring if we all had the same opinions.....
Catherine Zeta-Jones annoys the hell out of me and i agree about Richard Gere he gives me the creeps, but i love Nicole Kidman i think she is fantastic and i also like Julianne Moore she's cool.

Hilary swank is WAY over-rated - look at her performance in Boys dont cry and see how SIMILAR it is to that in million dollar baby - she can play ONE role and in everything else she has been in she's just wooden like in core.
