There's also the very obviously brilliant The Sting and a favourite of mine Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Disappointing though, when you consider the later careers of the likes of Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood, that Newman has made nothing of real note since the fabulous Blaze in 1989. Sideshow roles in The Hudsucker Proxy and Road to Perdition. Is that it, or am I just not remembering any others?

You are not remembering his fabulous Oscar-nominated turn in the wonderful 'Nobody's Fool' from 1994. Another leading role in the entertaining 'Twilight' followed in 1998, but other than that supporting roles followed and now his retirement. His last leading role when he was 73 as Eastwood's (to date) at 74, i would say that their acting careers have mirrored each other somewhat, although Newman obviously had greater success as a younger actor. Eastwood's greater contribution I believe has been as a director. Redford is still a Spring chicken at only 71.
