Anyone kindly tell me if we can submit an animation to a 'video' competition i.e. does animation qualify as video?

Yep, Yelding (top of the comedy ladder, deservedly so) enters an animation for most competions.

I am in the middle of doing my first animation for the Monty Python competition and don't plan to revisit the medium for some time. Big Grin

thanks danny, what program are using to animate ? we're learning flash. bit of a learning curve but quicker than stop frame motion which i've flirted with previously.

To be honest (and this may be the problem) I have used Gimp to create a series of images and are just playing them back and synching them on Ulead Video Studio 10.

I did try various recommended program but felt the learning curve was to great for the time I had.

Hopefully should be uploading 'Bear Dreams' tonight, under the JunkMales profile... just got to top and tail it with intro and credits.

Yep, animations are absolutely fine for any of the video comps... I prefer the stop motion style myself - as I like to use 3D models... But any style is acceptable, people are just happy to see your ideas and enjoy them... Good luck, and I shall look forward to seeing your pieces as and when they appear... Smile

Well bear dreams has been uploaded and on reflection it wasn't AS painful as I'd imagined (but very very simple animation).

Getting the lip sync right was immensibly satisfying have to say.
