Well done to LustForLeith for getting picked as the pitch for this... 'The Blairs On The Jeremy Kyle Show' should provoke some good entries, and it'll be fun to see what people come up with...

Good luck everyone... Smile

For an idea about what the Jeremy Kyle show is like i'd recommend listening to Lee35's brilliant audio 'The Saviour Song'.

Sabriel, I had exactly the same thought.

Chris (Mod) - can you clarify whether this sketch HAS to be a two-hander, or whether Alan and Justin would be happy to film with a third party ?

(Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming it's two-handers only.)

Living outside the UK I lose touch so to speak. But I just found out via Internet that Melanie C hosted a recent show... Now the thought of writing a sketch for people who once breathed the same air as Melanie C, what more stimulous does one need?

Cheers folks, quite chuffed with getting this far, going to add it to the CV like the time I stummbled upon a filming of Rebus while I was off sick. Going to put Actor/Script Writer on my passport. Better than what I do just now.

I'm hoping it's a three people sketch, or I don't have much of an idea on what to do if it's not!

Good luck everyone

As there's no limit on the number of entries you can put in for this one, I'd say the safest option is to go both ways with it... So try at least one with two characters, and one with all three...

The Jeremy Kyle character is a given... So have him sparring with either Tony or Cherie, and then another with both of them...

I believe it's just going to be Alan and Justin in the sketch - but as they're filming it and it's not going out live, if need be, they can easily double up and one of them can play two parts... Smile

I've got five parts, i just hope that's not too many parts to play for the sketch.

Just a big well done to the ten selected script winners!

(Not gutted mines wasn't one of them!)

Only joking. Good work!

Yep, well done all short-listed entries!

It will be interesting to see if the winners piece gets (badly) re-written by the 'so called professionals' before it is produced... which is what happened to Yieldings 'meisterwork' for Secret Policemens Ball... IMO

Hopefully not...

And seriously well done guys! Smile

Wow, this is the first time I have ever been shortlisted for anything. Oh, well there was that one time, but that was a very different 'short list' with much more negative connotations...

Yep... A really good comp this one, and great fun to get involved with... Hopefully, there'll be more opportunities like it coming up in the future...

Well done to everyone who took part, and well done to everyone on the shortlist and the final five... Smile

Yes...well done everyone who was shortlisted and to LustForLeith for the original pitch!
I sent in a script and was cruelly denied advancement. Being exceedingly bitter I trawled my gene pool for reasons of a racial/sexual pejudicial nature as to why I was crushed like a grape (acknowledgement Stu Francis)...unfortunately after extensive testing it turns out I'm straight and white...just maybe a tad mediocre at writing. I've found the easiest way to deal with such disappointment is to cry like a girl whilst laughing maniaclly for hours on end in a darkened room dreaming about the total destruction of the 4laughs judging panel. Does anyone else feel that after such rejection a good result for the day would be the sun turing nova, incinerating every living being on the planet?...obviously leaving the undead to rule earth...much like an episode of the Golden Girls. Thank you for being a friend. ET.

That's one way, if (or rather, when) my stuff gets (invariably) rejected I just reflect on the fact that the judges were hopelessly misguided... and that (of course) it's their bleedin' loss...

Well it looks like the competitions are looming again, so it's fervoured excitement, anticipation and tension followed by the inevitable feeling of disappointment...I can almost sense my girlfriend saying "I know that feeling".

Well done to Allyn Lawson and 'Cherie's Lady Feathers' for coming out on top in the final judging - a great take on the theme/pitch, with some good moments that should translate to film nicely... Looking forward to it... Smile
