Hello computer comedians,

Okay i'm a newbie so this may be a stupid question, but can anyone tell me where I find the latest winners for the caption competition?

Basically I went to the caption section and it said the latest winners were from July but I entered a caption comp last week (the hilarious photo of our future queen engaging in some 'Thai Chi') and now I can't find the results.

I read some of the other posts which mentioned that their have been problems with the site so maybe it's that but darn it I need to find out who won last weeks caption comp. I can't handle the suspense!

P.S. I can't find my profile on the site is that normal for a newb.

Hi Jaddy - welcome to the boards and to the site...

Unfortunately, the main area has been having some technical trouble of late and it's affected a lot of the comps - the video and audio mainly, but also the last four or so caption comps... They haven't been able to moderate a lot of the entries and therefore haven't been able to judge any of them yet...

BUT... The video and audio difficulties have now been overcome, so I think there's a good chance the captions will be back up and running at full speed soon as well... We'll just have to be patient... Enjoy entering in the meantime - and the winners will turn up sometime in the next few weeks...

Your profile also needs to be moderated before it appears so they can check what you've put is all okay and not offensive, and also check any links you've added... That'll turn up within about 48 hours or so... Hope that helps - have fun...

Also ++ thanks for the profile advice, I wrote some rather scathing remarks about duck-billed platapi which I have now, on your sound advice, removed.... <mutters> stupid duck-billed platapi claiming there mammals when they lay eggs, it's just not right, darn it!

There's been an ongoing problem with Comedy Profiles, apparently, as well as the other uploads, according to the new Blog today... But hopefully now, the 'gremlins' have once again been slayed, and all is right with the (comedy) world...

They do seem to be getting on top of it now though - there's lots of new videos and audios appearing all the time... So it shouldn't be long before the comps are back up and running at full speed...

Are the captions ever returning? I miss them so.

I agree, it gives you comedy brain a kick up the backside... a mixed metaphor perhaps, but I'd imagine alot of people would say the same... infact it was the caption comp that made me join 4Laughs in the first place, then I plucked up the courage to submit some stuff... and very glad I did too.

We seem to have a lot of compos around with no results..captions, mundo loco, etc and The main site was only updated once this week.

This coincides with the new sponsorship by Grolsch. I wonder if there is a connection. (Hiccup..your my best mate you are..)

Yep... Definitely a shame about those Caption Comps... It started up again for a brief six week run back in, I guess, about November - but I think the submission form was playing up and not many entries were getting through, so they couldn't judge them... (I know at least about ten of my entries for them never cleared)...

That was without a doubt one of the best regular comps on the site though when it was up and running properly (we even had one a day for quite a few months) and really fun for regulars and just passing visitors to have a crack at in their lunch break...
