I emailed 'them' about this...they said that they were working on stopping multiple votes (we'll see how soon that gets done), but the voting other people down thing can't be stopped, I'm afraid. Maybe the voting system could be streamlined to a Like or Not Like version. The one with the most 'Likes' wins...maybe I'm just complicating things.
The caption contest seems equally bizarre sometimes, but I just put it down to horses for courses...I personally thought 'Yankee, Poodle, Dandy' was one of the neatest, shortest most on the money bits of genius I've read in a long time...and it came nowhere...maybe that's why I'm schlepping around the fringes of the comedy world!

Twitching only gets a 3 when I thought it deserved a 4 at least, and the same goes for ToasterWatch.
Now I’m honest when I rate the videos, I give them how much I feel they deserve, but it seems to me that some people are deliberately giving very low ratings so that their own videos can be placed in the top four (or five). So, what's going on here?
The 4laughs team found that somebody had been voting repeatedly for themselves and it kinda messed everything up for a while. They're still working on the voting system, but to be honest I don't think votes should be used for the competition, it would be better if the competitions were judged by individuals and the rating were used as nothing more than public opinion, that way people are more apt to be honest with their votes.
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine.

I think that's what they've started doing with the last couple... They're taking the rating into consideration as a 'guide', but basing the actual placements on editorial opinion, which seems to work better...

I agree. I don't even think it should be a guide. To be honest I personally don't even think there should be a competition but I guess that is the best way to get people to submit material. Not sure what this rating system delivers.

If they are going to do it that way, get riding of the rating system totally. After all, the reason they are doing the judging is because on people voting for themselves and how unfair it can be sometimes so if they're being influnced by peoples vote, it doesn't solve the problem. Am sure that they will work it all out in the end though.
