I would only need the one home, and it would be in London. Probably in a leafy area in West London with a nice large garden, good schools, and miles from the nearest sink Estate. I wouldn't want to buy a home I wouldn't use, so when I wanted to travel, I would just use the money to pay for a nice hotel and some serious pampering. Much better than wasting a house by barely living in it. Ary. -------------------------------------- ***Do not, I repeat Do NOT feed the Trolls! *** *** All Hail the mighty hamsters! ***

OOh like this thread Mine would be in Richmond in Surrey, the nicest bit of Edinburgh and the nicest bit of Brighton Nicest = most beautiful (house and area, I need greenery and lovely old buildings) most convenient (easy access to shops and main roads to get around but not right on top of them) most expensive (and actually worth it)

Mine would be a certain place in the New Forest the grockles don't know about (nah! not telling!); Sark; the southernmost bit of the Isle of Wight (you need to have won the Lottery to pay house insurance there because it's slowly falling into the Channel but I love it).

A Georgian town house in central London (there's my rollover gone), an ancient farmhouse in North Yorkshire with access to a river and a modernist clifftop house overlooking the sea in Devon. Not necessarily in that order.

A cosy cottage in the Highlands of Scotland, inland from Aberdeen and close enough to the River Don for visits there. A cottage in the Cotswolds and another cottage in Devon, Dorset or Cornwall. There's a cottage theme going on here, but I have no desire for palatial. Wouldn't choose London, I'd just stay in fabby hotels of different kinds each time I wanted to visit.

A house in the South side of Glasgow (where I am, but in a flat), somewhere on the Ayrshire coast with a view of Arran, a cottage in Peebles.

I'm already where I want to be - we bought this old and lovely house on the north Pembrokeshire coast just over 2 years ago, and now I can't imagine living anywhere else! I suppose if I HAD to choose two other locations they would be errrr, uuummmm, Ok, I give up! . This place has everything we want - a gentle pace of life, low crime, breathtaking scenery and lovely people. Oh and watching seals and dolphins at play when you're having your breakfast ain't too bad either!

I'm of the same opinion Aryldi. I'd like to buy a contemporary house or apartment either in Norwich City Centre or in the "Golden Triangle" area. It must have at least off-road parking for the Citroen C6 I intend to buy with the lottery win! I would buy a property for my parents to enjoy their retirement: likely a detached bungalow in the northern leafy suburbs of Norwich.

In the UK I would absolutely love a house in Westbourne Grove. Either Georgian or Victorian, and I would accept a terrace, though as this is fantasy it'll have to be detached, with 5 double bedrooms, 3 reception rooms and a huge kitchen-diner. And at least a 100ft Garden. (I'm not sure that even exists if I had the money.)
I wouldn't want another house in the UK, but I'd go for 2 in Ireland. 1 in Limerick near my family and 1 in Dublin where my partner is from. As I'd love to be able to divide our lives between being near our families and our work. And they could both have the same spec as the W'bourne Grove house.

Ditto that. Not London though. Big house, country side, room for kids to have treehouse/ swings / slide etc. Helicopter 'parking space' and luxury hotels all the way baby!

Make sure you keep enough money over so you can pay the cleaners.

Pretty nice taste so far chaps and chapesses! I'll take a detatched period house in Belsize Park (so long as it's not near Chris Evans's) A converted windmill on the North Norfolk coast (Wells - Sheringham) A large apartment in Edinburgh's New Town. Possibly swap one of the 2nd two for a Maserati Quatroporte.

I think I'd want a big swanky central London apartment first, then somewhere cosy right by the south coast. Cornwall perhaps, or Devon. Lastly I'd have a posh apartment in the centre of York, somewhere really central.
I think that's my lottery win spent two or three times over!

I would definitely go for Richmond in Surrey! Absolutely beautiful area, In fact both homes would be in Surrey, but alas I can't even buy a postage stamp in Richmond!

Please get Jen out before I put my foot through the television, Thanks.
Darnell to win.

some big townhouse with views over Scarborough... converted Barn out in the Yorkshire Dales... finally Bullfort in the Humber (could convert into a Bond villains lair complete with helipad)

Depends when you ask the question. Right now this minute?
Lerwick. The hottest it is going to be there this week is 21 degrees.
I am currently in London and about to leave for Reading. Both about 30 degrees today and much hotter by Wednesday. And I HATE hot weather.
Ask me again when the weather cools down and I will probably say Chipping Campden, which is one of the prettiest places I know.

I do like the Channel Islands, particularly Jersey, although I would settle for a modest little home like THIS ONEon Guernsey.
