Eek I woke up this morning to see our landing window sill is filled with water....rainwater.

we bought this house pretty recently. This sealed window is not reachable unless a ladder is used. Its about 2 feet below the ceiling in upstairs... There was a hairline crack when we last saw it... This crack at the top of window is running its length to above the ceiling. Its now have got watermarks and droplets from that small drizzling from last night.

Its a semidetached house. This window is close to the neighbours. near to this window at the adjacent wall thats between us and neighbours the paint is swollen[never noticed it before]. What should I be doing now... please advise me!

I will be ever so stressed again until this is fixed.

Could it be a problem with the roof or the guttering above the window?

Is the guttering loose, if it's not catching the rain it will run down the walls and in thru your cracks.

Never argue with a woman. You might win - and then you'll really be in trouble.

I would ask a roofer to look at the edge of the roof in that area, and also check that the guttering isn't blocked with leaves.

I'd call a general builder.

Don't worry about replastering - you've got to find out the cause and fix it first. But you will hopefully find that the plaster will dry out of its own accord (over a few months) once the problem is fixed.
