B&Q have a very nice plasma fire in the sale which I quite like. I have no experience of this type of fire though, and I wonder whether anyone here could advise me on the positive and negative points of plasma fires?

B&Q Plasma Fire

ooh - I saw a similar one but less nice in a store near me. I asked the guy in there about it and he said that as it is flueless I'd need to block up my existing flue - don't know if this effects you. He turned it on and said that they are known for throwing out a lot of heat. So much so that when he forgot to turn it off again another member of staff came up to do it as he said that he exterior can get very hot and kids think with it being a screen they can touch it.

I think it is nice though, a bit different but not outrageous - I think these real flame affairs that seem to dominate can be a bit twee for my liking.
