Yep thanks for this. If I want to get the best idea of the structural integrity of the house, will a surveyor provide any additional info that the structural engineer won't?
It depends on what his area of expertise is. You should clarify beforehand exactly what he will be doing.
If he is purely looking at the steel work he wont look at damp, drains, roof, cracking, lintels, door frames etc. So unless he is qualified to do this then you would need another expert.
