Hi all, thought you might be amused/shocked by this. Yesterday we got a letter through the door from an agent/property company. It said that they had recently bought a house down the road, which needed a substantial refurb, for £262,500. (Given we paid rather more than that for ours last month, we were a little surprised to say the least. This is London.)
The house mentioned in the letter is now being rented out by this agent/company. The letter went on to promise a "quick sale" in 3-5 days if we were desperate enough to be interested in their spiel...Having just bought last month, we are hoping not to sell for many years, so thankfully are immune to their charm
So, I checked online, and it turns out the house down the road sold for £320,000, not £262,500 at all! Obviously house prices are too high, but these people are just preying on the desperate. Is there anyone I can complain to about this? Or is it not illegal for them to lie like this
