OK, while i THINK the CH quote is to utilise the existing pipework as much as possible, and, therefore not THAT far off the mark, i am a little bit (well, a lot, really) warey about the rewire quotes Is this just a "catchpenny" of should i bother giving them a call?
They sound a bit desperate. We all know that good tradesmen rarely need to advertise at all, let alone display prices.
I would personally be wary of any sort of firm who would quote fixed prices on things like that without looking at the job first. That's not to say, though, that when they come to give a firm quote that they would not adjust according to the particular requirements of the job.
There's plenty of companies advertise their goods or sales then when they come to your house you find that the stuff contained in the offer is only relevant to some so called 'standard' and invariably your house won't be.
You might want to have a quote from them to compare to others though.
