I was trying to be nosy and find out what our neighbour's house sold for. I noticed our purchase (in 2003) wasn't on there, but it used to be.

Should I be worried?

I would be pleased.

I am always snooping at sold prices on these websites. Bet other people are doing the same to us. Roll Eyes

Ours isn't on there either (2006). I wouldn't worry. Go to the official Land Registry site, for £3 you can check yours is on there (mine is).

My old house I bought is on there, but it's listed at more than I paid....what a surprise!

And I'm a terrace on the records apparently. I'm not.

I've noticed quite a few mistakes with these house price sites. Roll Eyes My house is also on there for more than I paid for it (May 2007). And you can't rely on the house types being accurate either. As Velvet says, the Land Registry is more accurate.

As they seem to be so inaccurate it seems fruitless to check out the sites to see what previous properties sold for so you can price your property/adjust your offer accordingly. Certainly checking out my road for that purpose would just do your head in Big Grin

There's a flat identical to mine a few blocks down that sold last year. I know it sold because my mate used to work with the person who bought it. Its frustrating when this info doesn't appear on these sites. Angry

The prices are taken from the land registry and it is up to the purchaser when registering the property to STATE the price paid

I bought my house in 1980 and have just registered it with land registry so put the average local price for the type of house no way would I put the £10 K I paid in 1980.

Also the certificate from lr and the ground plan are no where near as detailed as the old deeds so hang on to the deeds if you can

nethouseprices thinks the last house sold in my road was in 2002, so the average price for the road is ridiculously low. I know for certain three houses have sold since this time, and they are all listed correctly on the Land Reg site.
