Hello there,

I have just moved into a leashold property nad am getting a sky dish installed. The property already has an individual dish but it is very old and may not work. If this dish needs replacing and may need re-positioning - do I need to notify the freeholder?

Any thoughts would be most welcome!

Cheers

Check what your Lease has to say on the matter - sometimes sat dishes are not allowed, as is the case with our development. If the old dish was allowed, it should be possible to replce it and not bother with contacting the Freeholder - who will probably charge you £££s just for writing a "Yes that's OK" letter.

Take a photo of the sat. dish with day/date on the photo as a record that it was already in position when you took over the leasehold property but it was defective so you replaced it with a serviceable dish.

Thansk for the speedy responses.

The dish indeed did not work but luckily we can use the dish that the downstairs flat has to share the signal - something I wasn't aware of!
