Hi

I have one sash in my new (old) flat.
Top window doesn't open, bottom window doesn't stay up, (need weight adjustments or something) drafts come through, & bottom bit needs something or other to prevent rot or something.
As I have only one window, the companies that Ive approached wont' consider the job, I need a small co to take it on.
Any one know of any please?

I would contact one of those internet-based handyman companies that have sprung up recently.

I'm in SW16 and have used one for minor repairs and the service was excellent. They are a good option for this sort of thing. I know that the one I use does sash windows.

I believe that we can't give out direct company names. Try googling on "handyman in SW London" or similar and you'll probably find one Smile.

Or, if you are prepared to leave an e-mail address here, I will send you the contact.

try googling refurb-a-sash - they did a single window for me (but it was incredibly expensive!)

I used the sash window workshop to refurbish my windows - I think they will do single windows. Easy to find them via google. However a good builder could easily do what you need doing.
