We've just chosen a bleached oak kitchen with a granite coloured worktop. But we can't agree on the kitchen floor.
We both like the idea of stone tiles, but don't like the idea that everything we drop will break - so maybe lino tiles?
Does anyone have a bamboo floor because that's another option?

We're also stuck on tile colours for the walls, possibly stone or marble effect, but we're not sure as that would mean there would be no colours in the kitchen.

Any advice?

I would say get a hold of as many samples as you can, take them home, try them out, look at them in different lights, get some paint charts, fabric samples, tile samples, see how everything works together and really take your time over it...

Good tip, match the worktops with the floor - otherwise, you'll end up with too many shades!

This is actually a big bonus. You can add your colour in flashes with your accessories, pictures, blinds, feature wall, even tea-towels and then when you fancy a change or come to sell, that blank canvas is a big plus.

I'd go with trinity tips in the first place though.

To be honest, I find that a glass knocked off a work surface will smash on any kind of floor Wink... so go with the look you like and the most practical for you...

Thanks for the replies... we've decided to go for Amtico lino tiles, as they have that stone tile look but are much softer/warmer. (We have a toddler who is just learning to walk and so have decided against the real tile option!) Btw i don't think it's true that a glass breaks on any surface - I've grown up in kitchens with lino tiles and everything always bounces on them!

Thanks holy cheeses - I agree with you, we're going with pale stone floor and white wall tiles - I think this way we won't put off buyers when we decide to sell up.
