I think a lot of people might find a wall of mirror a bit Jason King (god how old am I! Anyone else remember Peter Wyngarde!!!!)but there are more contemporary takes on this (Ikea have some great mirror fronted wardrobes for example). If the rest of the room is state of the art then I think you can get away with it. If, on the other hand, you have that weird boxed in bed with overhead storage thing going on plus floral bedding and co-ordinated wallpaper then I think you might be in trouble...

They would put me off because I absolutely detest them. I'd rather have no fitted wardrobes than mirrored ones. Perhaps you could install some with a glossy finish. I've just put a gloss white kitchen in (well Mr S has) and I'm amazed at how much light the doors reflect.
We had gorgeous bespoke mirror doors fitted in our master bedroom, to maximise the space on a wall where the eaves meant that we couldn't have free standing furniture.
They go all the way across the room, 6 doors in total, 2 are cherry wood, leftmost and rightmost, and the other 4 are mirrored, with a Rennie Mackintosh-style etched/engraved square, going across all 4. I.e. one square designed across 4 doors. Very modern.
I love them and they absolutely MAKE my bedroom.
I don't think they're at all naff, I think that perhaps this is just the latest thing that people think it's cool to dislike!
carpozijr, your bespoke type doors sound quite nice. But the original poster was asking about sliding mirror doors. I had these in my bedroom in the 1970s and there were dated and naff even then - we removed them in about 1980. I think they're horrid!
