Can anyone help, my partner and I found our dream home just over a year ago was due to complete on it in July 2007 and on the day of exchange the fella at the top of the chain pulled out, since he has apparantly been looking but it appears that there is nothiing to suit (as he wants all of his boxes ticked) I would just love Kirsty and Phil to get on his case exaplain the meaning of 'compromise' during this time we have sold our house 3 times and are really anxious not to lose another buyer who are currently living with their father which is not ideal for them, I have good days and bad days and have looked at renting and unfortunately in my area is not an option as we have pets !!! The people above the house we are buying are private sales and it somewhat restricts our communication with the fella at the top, does any one have any ideas pleassssseeeee !!!
Sorry bit confused, is your property the bottom of the chain, then the property you want to purchase and then the property where they want to move to the end of the chain - but now the top of the chain cant find a suitable property, therefore leaving the chain incomplete!
You've lost two buyers along the way and don't want to lose a third is that correct?
It sounds like your holding out for a house that may never become available - have you looked around for other properties - some people are not prepared to compromise for something thats not suitable, and they wont give a monkeys about you at the bottom of the chain !
On the positive side, can you ask your solicitor to contact the solicitor of the private buyer direct to get a feel for what is actually going on? I know some solicitor's dont particularly like doing this, but our's did when we have problems.
Sorry to confuse you DG1 but yes you have got it, I am not that good at puuting whats in my head on paper !!! I was not sure if I could do that but I will email my solicitor straight away and request this.
We have looked at others but you know when your heart rules your head that is what is going on here plus what we are getting for our money is great.
It sounds like the person at the at the top of the chain is not the person you are buying off. Can you not just ask them to considering selling to you and then renting themselves ?
If you have a buyer in place for your property, then they can't expect you to hang on indefinitely for them.
Hi there, Yes I do have an idea, my partner has just sold his house and we came across a website just before completion, I wish we had found it before hand, it would have saved a lot of stress as no-one could get hold of solicitors 3 houses down the line....try this next time www.followmymove.com. You can communicate with everyone in the chain, its fab. Good luck with future sales, I believe houses sell when they are meant to. You will prob find a better one xx
