I am wanting to have central heating installed in my small 3 bed semi and the quotations so far have been around the 6K mark. This is more expensive than I estimated but is it the going rate or am I being ripped off.

You are being ripped off.

A 100kw combi boiler and 8 rads should cost about 3k.

Around the £3-£3250 we would charge for a Valliant Combi plus rads with all the extra's like TRV'S.
1YR. Guarantee on the Boiler (Standard) 3yrs. on the installation, 5 years on the Rads. Including VAT (CORGI REG INSTALLER) and all the Tea we can drink in 4 days 'ish.
£6k for a 3 bed semi, they are having a laugh!

So I can compare, I know the most pricey aspect of central heating is the boiler, if you were replacing radiators alone how much would this cost for 5? 2 large and 3 medium sized and any pipework that needed replacing?
