Househunters, if you paid 13K for the glass, can I ask you how much the whole extension is costing you?

I do think, from what you describe, it can look great!

Yep I think it was.

Thanks for the info.
Having the handle on the bottom makes sense. If I remember correctly they do electrically operated ones as well. Or is that just for the blinds? I will check their website again...

Did you decide on white finish for practical or aesthetic reasons?

Aesthetic.

I believe they do have electronically operated versions of the windows, but I thought it would introduce an added complication and expense which I don't really need (not sure how reliable they are either).

Pont, the structural work cost about 6500 and that included the foundations of 1m, the new party wall, knocking out, steel beams, opening the dining room onto new space ans steps down and we also dug the floor out a bit so I suppose about 20000, plus cost of tiling etc on top. It was part of a whole renovation but I think that is about right. We were quote about 25000 for a standard side return extension.
We did share the cost of the party wall as the neighbour is doing exactly the same on her side!

Fingers crossed. They are coming this week to start installing it. eek!

Hi Househunters, how did the side return go? We asked Glassspaces for a quote last week for a structure similar to yours but they came out with a wild £47k figure so I will ask them to rework..Would be interested to hear of your experience and how the glass roof is working out in the dull/cold winter. We have a North facing garden so I think a glass roof may be the only option for us but am conscious of high cost. Rigs
