Definitive answer(maybe) --- I met a guy today who used to work for the waterboard.I mentioned the orange gunge, and he said that its only iron. It could be iron from the old piping, and/or from the iron thats now used in the treatment process after the use of alum was stopped because of its aluminium/alzeimers link. Harmless apparently. Actually funnily enough we havent had it for the last few weeks for whatever reason.

It does scrub off the curtain and tiles, but Im finding its tainting the white colour of the sealant.Dettox is keeping it under control as long as used every day, but any opinions as to the cause? Is it a mould of sorts? Or a content of the water?

We've got this as well and the plumber said it was caused by whoever installed the plumbing using 'copper grease'(?) on the joints.
