I'd hope that it's been priced 'attractively' to receive bids. Saw HUTH the other day (or maybe it was Property Auction) and one guy's property was either too highly priced or the reserve was too high.

Hope it all goes well for you, Toasti!
There was one on House Auction yesterday (the 4pm C4 prog) where the guy was selling his house to pay for helicopter piloting lessons - that the one you're thinking of?
It's a house that I was going to develop (the one with the woodchip if anyone remembers that far back).
I've got planning permission to turn it into 6 apartments.
Basically, it took me soooooo long to get planning, then I bought my mum a bungalow but needed to sell her house before I had any money to do the development, but that took ages to go through, and then as part of my application for finance I had the apartments valued for sale and nearly fell through the floor. I worked backwards from there, as I'd had quotes for the conversion costs - and realised it was worth selling without the hassle of doing the work.
If it doesn't reach the reserve then I'll keep it and go ahead with the work. But really, for a first development I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew so if I can cash in now I'll be able to do something smaller and not be strapped for cash over the next 12 months.
I still feel sick. And what am I going to wear?

This may or may not help you---------- A fellow Property Chap I know has just completed around Christmas Time a Victorian Detached Villa conversion into 6 flats! Seriously over budget he says, so much hassle, non have sold and never again he says. I looked at these flats and it is a top-notch job as well, quite superb, but of course with prices to match to try and recoup his outlay. Food for thought in your circumstances?
Yes Toasti, I remember your flat development, I think I asked you if it was a manor house or something because it sounded huge, and wasn't someone on here going to come and help you strip the lovely wallpaper off?
Well, I hope it all went well tonight, please keep us posted! Oh, and I hope you got the outfit sorted
Thanks QS - yes, I think the stress has gone, but bit difficult to tell with my head the way it is this morning.
Thanks for your story MelBoy, didn't read it before the auction but it's along the lines I was thinking. I've made the same amount on the property as I believe the developers will going forward but without the hassle, stress, and the risk of costs spiralling and the possibility of house prices dropping. I'm possibly looking to take on something smaller but I've got the cash behind me now. On the other hand I might just take a long holiday!
