If I buy any rad valves will they fit my old existing rad?

They will fit your radiators but not necessarily the pipework as the pipe work can be either 15mm,10mm or 8 mm
|

Also even given same dimension the space between rad and connection varies with different brands of valve.
Never argue with a woman. You might win - and then you'll really be in trouble.
