I am new to this forums and would like some advice on selling my house. I was surfing the net trying to find a good conveyancing firm and I came across convex.I would like to know if anyone had dealt with them before and whai was the experience like. I am in the process fo selling my house on my own and do not want to be taken for a ride. Thanks for all your help. Bye
Probably no help but when buying a lock-up garage I decided to do the conveyance myself bought a diy pack and went ahead most of the time the other party solicitor got fed up waiting and asked me when he would receive form whatever thus I knew what to do next
Mind you that was a couple of grand I think a couple of hundred grand might make me act otherwise but it is not at all hard to diy conveyance
Buying a garage is akin to buying a garden shed and is nothing like buying a house. There is now the added complication in relation to identification fraud in sales by non conveyancers which is apparently up by 200% in the last year, you will now find things far more difficult if you want to do your own conveyancing and very few solicitors who will be happy to have a non conveyancer on the other side of them because of this.(see other post regarding empty houses)
You get what you pay for. If you want a professional job, hire a professional... I wouldn't hire an accountant to do my loft conversion... and I wouldn't hire a builder to do my accounts!
