Hi There, Moon

I am new to this forums and would like some advice on selling my house. I was surfing the net trying to find a good conveyancing firm and I came across convex.I would like to know if anyone had dealt with them before and whai was the experience like. I am in the process fo selling my house on my own and do not want to be taken for a ride. Thanks for all your help. Bye Wave

Don't go for the cheapest, try asking your friends who they used and can recommend.Never heard of convex.

Probably no help but when buying a lock-up garage I decided to do the conveyance myself bought a diy pack and went ahead most of the time the other party solicitor got fed up waiting and asked me when he would receive form whatever thus I knew what to do next

Mind you that was a couple of grand I think a couple of hundred grand might make me act otherwise but it is not at all hard to diy conveyance

Buying a garage is akin to buying a garden shed and is nothing like buying a house. There is now the added complication in relation to identification fraud in sales by non conveyancers which is apparently up by 200% in the last year, you will now find things far more difficult if you want to do your own conveyancing and very few solicitors who will be happy to have a non conveyancer on the other side of them because of this.(see other post regarding empty houses)

You get what you pay for. If you want a professional job, hire a professional... I wouldn't hire an accountant to do my loft conversion... and I wouldn't hire a builder to do my accounts! Wave
